We built PlanAssist to help UK Government planning officers speed up building and renovations across the country. Built with Gemini, it has shown it can cut the time planning officers spend assessing householder applications by up to 58%. It is now being made available to 12 more councils to help them to make faster decisions. 🏡 → goo.gle/4iQXYkl

Our second product is called Blindsight and it will, as the name suggests, enable even those who are completely blind or have never seen to see. It is ready from an engineering standpoint. Just waiting on regulatory approval.
Neuralink’s first product is called Telepathy. It enables high-speed communication with computers or humans simply by thinking. Output bandwidth will vastly exceed the fastest human speech or typing in a few years. Read that sentence again.

This is f*cking insane. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei just told DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis: "Every decision I make about Claude is balanced on the edge of a knife. Build too slow and China wins, build too fast and we lose control We told Claude we were evil. It didn't crash. It didn't refuse. It started lying to protect itself" In this 14-minute conversation, Hassabis answers: "Do I worry about being Oppenheimer? That's why I don't sleep much" Chatbots → Agents → Agents That Act On Their Own → AI Doing AI Research → AGI Both of them put AGI at 2026-2027, not some distant future By the end of this year, models will already be doing AI research on their own 95% of people still think AI is a chatbot, the 5% who watch this know what the next 12 months look like Worth more than any $1,500 AI course Bookmark and watch it tonight Then read the harness engineering guide below and start building agents before 2027 does it for you ↓

Despite the sober tone, it seems that AI will soon own both mathematics and mathematical physics. Is physics next? And then what?

This is an incredible moment in this history of mathematics, computer science, physics & science with some of the hardest problems in human history being solved by AI over a period of weeks. Depending on your perspective, it's either a crisis, a triumph, or both. I don't think anyone knows for sure. We're all trying to make sense of it. I oscillate between fear/dread and optimism/excitement on a daily basis. The rate of progress is insane, including today's announcement from OpenAI of more problems solved. To help make sense of all of it, here's my conversation with three mathematicians about this moment. Each of them is an expert in the field of each of the biggest problems solved: Navier-Stokes, quasi-Riemann hypothesis, the unique games conjecture and complexity theory more generally. Ankur Moitra is a mathematician and theoretical computer scientist at MIT, visiting the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. Steven Brunton (@eigensteve) is a mathematician and fluid dynamics expert at UW. Alex Kontorovich (@AlexKontorovich) is a mathematician at Rutgers specializing in number theory.

I offer four glimpses of a future worth wanting - four visions of existential hope. First, imagine if some of today's most painful limitations can soon be overcome - that much which we are currently resigned to accept can instead be challenged and vanquished. #xhopememeprize🧵

Three options for what happens next. (My *strong* preference is 02: the world wakens out of its present stupor and takes decisive action)
Humanity has only perhaps one or two more years left of living in vaguely normal circumstances

My new talk on Biostasis, AI, and the Future of Self. Sparks Biostasis is now just $36K. Affordable for most Americans. Would you preserve yourself at death if it was "free" (covered by health care), you believed it would work, and several of your loved ones had done it? Will your Personal AI become an ever more intimate *part of yourself* as you use it, from now till your death? Will your Personal AI want you to preserve your incredible complexity and uniqueness, rather than letting it rot? Will it want you back in the Extraordinary Future, to better remember and improve itself? youtube.com/watch?v=Kposx0Nv…

If we want to continue progress in science, we must be prepared to acknowledge that the correct description of nature will eventually simply be too complicated for humans to understand. I do not think it is wise to make human understanding a requirement. AI is the way forward.
