Dog Teaching moments
We humans often position ourselves as superior to all other living beings. Perhaps that is true & perhaps it could not be further from the truth.
My thread on Dog teaching moments that show we have a lot to learn & how we can be much better humans/leaders.

Sports allows us to see people at their highest highs and lowest lows.
Celebration, crying, failure, anxiety. It's real and raw. That's why bonds between teammates last. Athletics makes us vulnerable. In real life, we seldom are.

Finally, the Olympics have an equal number of men & women competing. It's been a long road:
1896: 1st modern Games
1928: 1st woman competes
1984: Women allowed to marathon
2000: Women allowed to pole vault
2012: Women can compete in all events
2024: 1st Games with gender parity

We don't need to debate whether it's better to be a generalist or a specialist. The world needs both.
Specialists excel at zooming in. They see the details to deepen our knowledge.
Generalists excel at zooming out. They see around corners to broaden our view.

One of the keys to elite performance is staying in the game long enough to allow your talent to fully express.
A rush to be great can often impede our development
Be patient
Focus on consistency over heroic efforts
Play the long game
Keep & develop the joy of the pursuit

We need a return to shared humanity instead of us vs. them.
Not sure how we get there.
But one problem is... Hate and fear are powerful drivers that get people to attach to a group/identity.
Modern social media/politics exploits this and amplifies it. It's a bad incentive.

The get-in price for Sunday's Wimbledon final between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz is currently $10,600.
That makes it the most expensive get-in price ever recorded for a sporting event on @TickPick.
