Why are fossil fuel companies allowed to profit at all? Why aren’t they being forced to pump their $2,500,000,000 DAILY PROFITS into rapid decarbonization? Why aren’t all those who subverted the truth about this genocidal industry for 40 years in prison? Genuine questions.

Jackdaw: a decision for last century. climateuncensored.com/jackda… A hastily drafted post following the UK Govt’s decision to approve further drilling & production at the Jackdaw gas field in the N.Sea. Please excuse typos, non-sequiturs, etc - I wanted to get the post online today.

We have just experienced our hottest summer on record. It is unfathomable that the government would approve another gas field in the midst of a climate emergency. The government has put the profits of fossil fuel giants over the future of our children. Beyond shameful.

Labour approving the Jackdaw gas field won't bring down our energy bills. It will, however, add to the climate crisis. So who exactly is this for? The public? Or are Labour bowing down to Trump and the fossil fuel industry? A decision on a second, even larger untapped site, the Rosebank oil field, has been delayed and is being decided separately.

The BILLIONS of people on track to be killed this century won’t all be climate campaigners. Climate campaigners are just people willing to accept uncomfortable scientific truths, while governments bury their heads in fossil fuel profits.

"The “statistial significance” of this model is overwhelming, i.e. we can resoundingly reject the hypothesis that global average SST has warmed at the same rate for the last several decades. It’s a lot faster now (about 0.3°C/dec) than it was before 2012 (less than 0.1°C/dec)."

To be clear: both the Lib Dems and Labour are saying that they will refuse to form a coalition with the Greens, even if it as the expense of a Reform or Tory government, because of a Green Party conference motion condemning a political ideology that’s led to genocide? Really?
I am ruling out our party entering into a national partnership with any party that is committed to a dangerous and antisemitic policy like the Green Party’s. Here is my letter to the Jewish Leadership Council and the Board of Deputies of British Jews 👇

Can anyone remember the last time @BBCNews interviewed a Palestinian about their experience of the racism of Zionism? Having spent the last two weeks interviewing elderly Nakba survivors in Jordan, driven off their land in their teens because of their ethnicity and religion, I'd be happy to suggest some astonishingly articulate victims of Israeli racism who would be only too happy to tell their tragic stories of eviction, slaughter and dispossession. It is like reporting on the Civil Rights movement in the US and only interviewing outraged Whites @bbclaurak @bbcnickrobinson @JustinOnWeb @BBCr4today
“[Saying] ‘Zionism is racism’ is offensive, it’s antisemitic and it’s dangerous” Broadcaster Jo Coburn says she “watched in horror” as the Green Party passed its motion on Zionism and criticises leader Zack Polanski's defence in his #BBCLauraK interview bbc.co.uk/news/live/c64gv8k2…

We’ve had five decades of neoliberal governments pretending that economic growth = what’s best for the people they are elected to serve. It’s a brain disease, a self-delusion set to come crashing down in the next few years, as their growthist fantasy slams into physical reality.

With this, climatologist Michael Mann drops claims global heating is not accelerating & recent changes were predicted by mainstream climatology. Those of us who identified this years ago were disparaged. Worrying if there's no introspection, to overcome new mistakes theyre making

My son was 1 when world leaders pledged to keep global warming below 1.5C to try & avoid irreversible climate collapse. When he was 10 the planet spent a whole year above 1.5C. When he’s 14, 1.5C will likely be gone forever. The greatest betrayal in the history of our species.
