I am not medically trained but in summary...
Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) currently has no cure
It is a progressive disease - it can advance over time - the rate varies from person to person
Sufferers have high blood pressure in their Pulmonary Arteries which carry blood from the heart to the lungs
Sometimes it can happen for no apparent reason, sometimes due to heart or lung disease
Breath will often become difficult leading to dizzy spells and tiredness
Without treatment Pulmonary Hypertension can often be fatal
Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) is one form of Pulmonary Hypertension which strains the right side of the heart
Symptoms may not appear until the condition has advanced
An early diagnosis and swift treatment can help the sufferer live longer and be more active
PAH is more common among females, who are often diagnosed between 30 and 60
My late wife after far too many tests was diagnosed at 51 years old
If I could change one small thing is for the medical professionals to test for PAH earlier not after ruling out most other conditions
My wife was originally ignored by her doctors, then was wrongly thought to have lung cancer
Those diagnosed later are given a vast disadvantage
Lung or heart-lung transplantation is used for the most serious cases of PH
However, the 'window' is somewhat narrow for potential recipients
As is more well-known there are more people on the waiting lists for hearts and lungs than donors that have organs that are suitable for transplantation
As at 31/03/2025 there were 308 patients on the active UK heart transplant list with 200 heart transplant performed in the year ending 31/03/2025
For Lung Transplants there 185 on the list (including 10 on the Heart-Lung list). 146 including 2 Heart-Lung transplants were performed

This is what happens when people with business experience get involved @andyburnham
You would do well to listen to them and not have your 400+ MPs (nearly all of them without any business experience) spend most of their time attacking @reformparty_uk and specifically @Nigel_Farage rather concentrating on matters like Poundland
Actually @EdwardJDavey your 70+ @LibDems MPs including the one currently suspended for who knows what are probably even worse than @UKLabour
e.g. @CarolineVoaden and @libdemdaisy as an example
Dan let me help you:
We fear Gordon Brothers, the owners are corporate raiders who are deliberately forcing an unnecessary administration using friendly receiver, so they can keep stores open to Xmas, so sell the stock, but not pay any suppliers, rates or HMRC etc.
They just bank the sales then force liquidation.
Retail raiders are well known for doing this.
The Govt should consider court appointed independent administrator to prevent this: there are funded buyers wanting to buy the Group
We have not mentioned using taxpayers money: our position is to protect taxpayers and help the workers
Never ceases to amaze me people who can dish it out but are such little wallflower themselves
I have no clue as to this individual is, but I see that I am blocked by the little fellow

Good riddance.
When will the election for your successor be held, and who is likely to be standing?
I have just informed my colleagues that I will step down as @ECB President on 7 February 2027.
It has been a source of great pride to serve this institution.
I thank all of those who have supported me on this journey over the past seven years.

Local piemaker explains how Burnham's first Budget will make things much worse:
"I don’t qualify for the business rates relief because I’m multi-site… I’ve got two shops, so I don’t qualify. The minimum wage has increased. I’m not saying we shouldn’t pay staff. I’m saying we can’t afford to pay them…
All my staff have been with us for years. So I’m going to have approximately a £700 a week increase. My suppliers are having an increase too. My supply bills are around £20,000 to £30,000 a week. That’ll go up 10%, so £2,000 to £3,000 a week. So that’s £4,000 a week I’ve got to find…
That’s about 20,000 to 30,000 pies a week. So my costs have gone up. I’ve got no business rates relief. The National Insurance is crippling me. The energy crisis is crippling me. I’m going to have to put my prices up,
Customers are going to get mad. I’m going to get less profit. As a family, as a director, I’ve got to take a 2% cut. So my family, my one-year-old girl. I’m taking a pay cut. The business is taking a pay cut.
How is that breathing room for me? Where’s my breathing space? John Healey, if you’re listening, where’s my breathing space? You promised me. You promised the UK breathing space. Where is it?"
One of the more irritating aspects of the Remain campaign was the lazy characterisation of all Brexit supporters as little Englanders who hate Europe.
I've worked in Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Romania. I've led teams of IT guys from all over Europe and worked happily with them. I've travelled all over Europe for business and pleasure. My first travel abroad as a teenager was to France and Italy. I can get by speaking French and speak some basic German. I proposed to my wife in Greece. I love Europe in all its diversity, its different languages, cultures, landscapes, history, food. I'm in France right now, for the second time this year.
What I don't love is the attempt to obliterate all of this genuine diversity by merging it into one huge superstate run by unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats, remote from the people being governed, on the shaky pretext that it was necessary to prevent another war or to allow free movement of citizens.
To me, wanting that for Europe is hating Europe.
(Ironically it's the EU along with NATO that is now cheerleading for yet another war in Europe).
And there are many, many Brexit supporters like me.
The unwillingness of Remain supporters to recognise the difference between 'the EU" and "Europe" was one of the more baffling and infuriating aspects of the referendum campaign.
And it remains true even today. It's as if they've never thought very deeply about any of it.
Forgive me for this ‘beg’ tweet.
I’m taking two of my boys to the NLD. My first time to take my boys to Spurs. I’m pinching myself.
Via an unbelievably gracious supporter, I’ve sourced 2 tickets for my boys in the South Stand, and they will be together.
I need a single somewhere in the South stand and I’ll pay well.
Appreciate any support getting this around.
🙏 & COYS
So @PaulKohlerSW19
Kohler, as you haven't had the courtesy to reply, its clear you are lying about businesses in Wimbledon having a disastrous time due to Brexit
It puts into question that any business in Wimbledon has even had the courtesy of you speaking with them
@LibDems never fail to be pointless politicians, even when they get a sniff of responsibility they screw up like Mr Hobby Horse @EdwardJDavey causing sub-postmasters to commit suicide
Then we have one of your throng Cameron Thomas facing a police prosecution for controlling behaviour and assault
Of course this isn't headline news as he isn't a @reformparty_uk or @Conservatives MP
@LibDems = a wasted vote

Ok, Kohler
Let's have ten businesses in Wimbledon where Brexit has been a 'disaster'
Now, you wouldn't have just made this up?
Giving you the benefit of the doubt, for the time being
Also how many sub-postmasters in Wimbledon were screwed by your incompetent leader, @EdwardJDavey ?
What a smug individual you are Kohler as per this poster has pointed out
Seeing you 'in action' is very revealing
Pompous and lazy looking as well as smug, with a trite and dismissive attitude
You are certainly no 'man of the people'
You ask @ShabanaMahmood for examples, but you can't give me any details about Wimbledon businesses you have referred to, so you were clearly lying
Love to hear from any Wimbledon businesses directly that Brexit is 'disastrous' for them
Kohler if Brexit was disastrous, you have no ability or relevant experience to help them. Doesn't even enter your 'academic' head
Academic, seriously
Pointless MP
Just like the @LibDems in general, no business acumen, just subservient EU lackeys, when not causing sub postmasters to commit suicide as per the Prancing @EdwardJDavey

Andy Burnham is now open to an “honest discussion” about free movement, the single market or even going “all the way” back into the EU.
In the Makerfield by-election only months ago he promised not to re-run Brexit arguments and said he was not proposing that the UK consider rejoining.

Yes Dan, the Nazis were socialists. Their actual name was the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, literally the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. “Nazi” is simply the shortened form.
And before anyone starts with the usual “but historians call them far right” response, Mussolini himself began as a committed socialist, preached Marxist socialism, edited Avanti!, the official newspaper of the Italian Socialist Party, and only later broke with the movement and developed fascism.
The point you're missing is that nefarious and dangerous political movements nearly always rise under lovely sounding promises about “the workers”, “the people”, fairness, equality and liberation from nasty capitalism, while the people running them somehow never seem very keen on living the lives they prescribe for everyone else.
Even Marx didnt put his own money where his mouth was. He spent much of his life in financial chaos, repeatedly relying on Engels to send him money, while Engels himself earned his living through the family business Marxist theory supposedly regarded as part of the capitalist system. Marx’s own correspondence is littered with requests for cash and complaints about debts.
So your GDR example rather proves the point. Calling East Germany “democratic” didn’t make it democratic, any more than calling yourself socialist, communist, progressive or “for working people” means the people at the top intend to live by any of it.
Look at Labour in 2026. How many MPs have ended up in investigations, expenses rows or questions over money while lecturing the rest of us about fairness, sacrifice and paying more tax?
Only this week Perran Moon was suspended by Labour over the £50,000 taxpayer backed Covid Bounce Back Loan. The working class kept working, and Moon "man of the people" saw an opportunity to fleece furlough.
But THAT is the point, Dan.
History is full of people promising equality for everyone else while sitting on their arse spending somebody else’s money. Starting wars they have no intention of sending their own sons to fight.
THATS LITERALLY THE POINT.
Socialists/communists/Marxists say one thing and do another.

😳 Wow! Robert Jenrick just turned the tables on the BBC live on air while being grilled over Reform’s candidate vetting.
Asked about the ITV undercover exposé on some Reform councillors and candidates, Jenrick made the obvious point that there’s only so much any organisation can do when it comes to screening people.
Then he flipped it straight back at the interviewer:
“Look at the BBC for example. Can you now give a guarantee to your listeners this morning that no BBC presenter in the future will be exposed as a paedophile, as a number have been in the recent past? No, of course you can’t. Because you can’t know absolutely everything about every individual in your organisation.”
Absolutely ruthless from Robert! 🔥
Does he know something about someone at the BBC that the rest of us don’t? 🤔
You can practically hear the panic behind the scenes. 😂
Jenrick’s right, though. No amount of vetting can guarantee you know everything about every single person in a large organisation. That’s just reality.

🚨Nigel Farage asked the PM: The MI5 Chief has confirmed 50 Iran-linked arrests in the last year. Will you now call a National Security Emergency on small boat crossings?
He wasn’t shouted down this time.
They know he was right then and he’s right now 👍🏻

Something to bear in mind, when people talk about EU membership helping to prevent small boats.
Every small boat migrant, 100% of them, got *into* the EU first. They had to, to come out the other side.
If the EU controlled its borders, the small boats wouldn't exist.

🇬🇧🇪🇺 Brexit. The nub. The Losers refused to give Loser’s Consent. Those Losers who were MPs boxed the PM and negotiating team into such a corner they were only able to come up with a fudged deal, which those same Losers have complained about ceaselessly ever since, despite being the cause of the problem. The actions of some politicians and public figures in demanding hard treatment for us from the EU bordered on treason. Now they want to Rejoin, without a Referendum, blaming interference from a foreign power. Their selective amnesia, petulance, arrogance, stupidity and dishonesty are breathtaking.

Russia tried but failed to interfere in the Brexit referendum. Confirmed by the security minister. Confirmed by the Foreign Office. Burnham should apologise to the British people in the Commons today for trying to delegitimise the result with his half truths. Shameful.
