Awesome day for @runHCXC at Conference. 17 all-conference athletes-the most in school history! Chase Mitchell won the frosh race, David Belgrad won the Soph race, and Henry Miller took the varsity crown. 2nd overall for Frosh, Soph, and JV…and varsity was part of an epic battle!
Attended my daughter's middle school XC conference meet: 262 girls ran in the open division, compared to 355 boys. At Peoria this past weekend there were 277 boys in the 3A race compared to 222 girls. At Richard Spring 1179 boys raced v. 809 girls. Genuine question: Why is this?
Zach's high school 3200 PR was 10:05. Now one of the top Ultra Runners in the country - just took home a $10,000 cash prize! 163 miles in 39 hours!!
D3 is the place for those whose motivations are intrinsic, who compete for the love of the sport. And you’ll get an EXCELLENT education, as exemplified by this beautifully written piece from @runhcxc alum, Chris Brenk.
Elliot Kadrofske '20 and Chris Brenk '20 were featured in the latest @D3GloryDays monthly series featuring @NCAADIII alumni training for the Berlin Marathon!
Oh, and Chris wrote the article. ✍️

Beautiful symmetry at today’s state championships. 4*8 started the meet with a 5th place all-state effort and the 4*4 (Zilliox, Tingler, Mendi, Mourad) ends the meet with a school record and 5th place race!

Bandukwala qualifies in the 800m for the first time in his career and becomes the FIRST EVER Blue Devil to run under 1:46 🔥
4*8 (Mohktarian, Krueger, Tarasi, Dillenburg) and 4*4 (Zilliox, Tingler, Mendi, Mourad) both run season best times and advance to tomorrow’s state finals. @runHCXC is the only 3A team in the state to qualify in those two relays!

BTF state. From ‘23. After winning the 3A XC title by .31 of a second, 6 months later this HC junior ran at EIU. Earlier this day Aden ran the 3200 finishing 3rd. Here, in the 1600, he ran a SB 4:10.39 going from last to first. PRM said move off the finish.
Varsity Conference Champions!! First time since 2004…and second since before the end of World War 2!! What an amazing full team effort. 🏆
Last night was the Bradley Davis Memorial Under the Lights Invitational. 191 athletes ran 1600 meters. 148 ran PRs, another 24 Season Best. Amazing! Bradley's parents were there to watch, and I like to think Bradley and Mike Newman were watching, too, from heaven. ❤️
