Michael Skora, yes, Michael Skora becomes the first @runHCXC in history to break the 4 minute mile!!!Reminder that he was our 26th best freshmen out of 29 on the team and finished that year with a PR was 5:51. What an incredible story of resilience and hard work. We’re so proud!

PERSPECTIVE. Earlier in the week, our team pledged that no matter what happened at Sectionals, we’d all wake up the next day and attend the #lovelikesean 5K, honoring the memory of Hinsdale resident Sean Richards. We’ll be rooting hard for Brother Finn and @BenetXC_TF at state!

Hinsdale Central 3A Sectional 11:00-Girls race 12:00-Boys race

Luckiest break of my professional career was getting hired at Hinsdale Central the same year that Jim Westphal became head XC coach. I’ve had two decades of mentorship from a HALL OF FAME coach. I join the rest of @runHCXC in congratulating him on this richly deserved honor!

Yesterday was 'dress like Cooper Revord' day at practice, very much a bottom-up and not top-down initiative, and evidently alternatively labeled #watckewednesday No one on the team rocks the legs sleeves quite like the youngest Revord...

It doesn't get much better than Cross Country at KLM in October. @runHCXC hosts the 3A regional tomorrow - boys at 9:00, girls at 10:00, followed by Hinsdale South hosting the 2A regional - girls at 11:00, boys at noon. And we'll be back a week later for Sectionals!

Man, did I ever get choked up when this was announced. We hung Clio’s plaque on her bedroom wall where it will inspire her to always strive to #LoveLikeSean

Young runners: come to our Community Track Meet this Wednesday at 6:00. It's FREE, but bring a few dollars to buy some icy cold drinks from my entrepreneurial daughter, Alexis. Her story is an amazing one: docs.google.com/document/d/1…). @runHCXC @westsuburbanha1 @chicagoflyerstc

Save the date!

Last night was great both personally & professionally. We hosted a track meet for 2nd-8th graders so Clio got to run in her 1st ever 800 (notice her smile!) & then followed it up with a nighttime double for @runhcxc. We also have meets 7/10 & 7/17. Come join us! @westsuburbanha1

Huge props to Dan Watcke for earning a berth to the U-20 World Championships in Peru and to his former teammate Michael Skora for his first ever sub-1:50. Amazing to consider how far Michael has come from freshmen XC:

How cool is this? Last year, Dan Watcke and Michael Skora were teammates on a National champion 4*800. Tomorrow, they meet again in Eugene, this time as opponents in the U-20 800 championships. #doubleV @runhcxc

Tony and Andy, I accept your challenge! Grabbing the metaphorical baton from Tony, I hereby present: 'Through my lens 2024' (Lawrence's version): docs.google.com/document/d/1…… @pntrack @PNDistanceCrew @runHCXC @dgnxcandtrack @runninhuskies @TrackEHS @GCHSTRACK @ILXCTF @MileSplitIL

4*4 is state runner up! New school record of 3:18.05! Braden Tingler to Smith Maxwell to Jack Parkins to Aden Bandukwala. For the final race of his high school career Aden anchors in 46.42 bringing us from 5th to 2nd. What a legend.

Aden Bandukwala appreciation thread: 1) Aden’s state track results: 2021-State champ 4*4 2022-2nd 4*8 & 4*4 2023-3rd 3200, 1st 1600 2024-1st 800, 2nd 4*4 Has any other athlete in Illinois history finished top-3 in those 5 events over the course of a high school career?

Well, that was a crazy 4*4. We just ran our school record…and finished 4th! Congrats to Braden Tingler, Smith Maxwell, Jack Parkins, and Aden Bandukwala on setting a new all-time best mark. Aden anchored in 46.5!!!

Our freshmen were 🔥tonight. In the final heat Mark Dillenburg (4th from right) and Walter Tims (2nd from right) became our 7th & 8th frosh to break 5, a new team record. They join Fawaz Anbari, Henry Miller, Elliot Kotleba, Johnny Krueger, Evan Posthuma, and Ian Maxwell. 🔮=☀️!
