Watching the Chrissie & @Martina 30 at 30, Saw the whole thing in real life! Martina ushered in modern training which completely changed the game!!! I cried so often during this doc for no apparent reason 😳
Congrats to Zverev! The improvement in Shelton off the ground particularly on Backhand will serve him very well going forward! His shot tolerance is at a new level as well! He will win a slam very soon!
The stuff @Matt_Manasse says about tennis come from someone who has spent a lifetime in & around the sport at all levels. I appreciate his insights & his humor
Some reflections on the US Open: The talking Heads on the US Open ESPN + streaming >>main network! Roddick is good addition! Losing with dignity & grace is a true character revealer! Tiley is a huge addition to the USTA!
Coco Gauff has a way of making her opponents play bad! The best court coverage in the history of the WTA and relentless hustle! She squeezes the court on opponents! Her 1st serve is 2nd best I’ve ever seen (Serena #1).
Beat the fight out of Mira today

The split screen of one college athlete (Carson Beck) describing how he doesn’t go to class and makes ~$5 M while the other college athlete (Michael Zheng) attends Columbia, grinds thru a 5-set win & cannot accept his relatively modest #AustralianOpen prize $—
… is very real 🤔
Don’t know the dude who created @showfortennis but I really appreciate his dedication to our sport & the fun he has had with every step of building a following!

You never know who’s going to comment, right? 😉 I’m reposting this because Chris Evert went through a similar situation to Caitlin Clark re: the WNBA, with a very different result, according to (and because of) Billie Jean King in On Her Game:
thoughts on Gentleman tim Mayotte | Talk Tennis tt.tennis-warehouse.com/inde…
@TimMayotte I remember this well as a good reminder of how principled you were. We are the same age I am from RI & played a lot of Tennis w Bedard & Gorman. You & Leach NCAAs 81’ & 82’, our group was the greatest in the history or NELTA! Inspired me to make tennis my life!
I don’t think Novak’s physical problems last night were due to being 39! He was not feeling well after 3 games! He is very fit! He will get to the bottom of this! I hope he keeps going, heck finals of Aus & Semis of Wimby ain’t bad!
2 things about this list: 1 every player was 19 or less when they entered college & not pro!! 2) Hanfman, Giron, Fery & Basaveraddy all played in the PAC 12!
blacktennishalloffame.com/p/… I remember working with Jeri at a USTA Jr training camp at Stanford University a long time ago. She was very talented and delightful! She was coached by the legendary Leroy Levi
In the summer of 77’ John McEnroe won the French Jrs beating Lendl in straight sets in the semis, won the mixed & lost in the 2nd round of the main after qualifying. He then qualified for Wimbledon & made the semis! He then entered his freshman yr of college ATP # 14!!!!
Watched a tee-shirt toss by @Kelseyplum10 wow! LJCD/North County couldn’t get her into tennis. We do a terrible job of selling our sport to girls. Kelsey! CoCo Gauff is 22 she has made well in excess of 50 million if you include endorsements.
Les Smith wearing a @WMUMensTennis tee shirt in Zheng’s Box on Centre Court at Wimbledon! Proud Alumni
McCartney Kessler has worked her way into being a great player and yes top fifty in a world of 9 Billion People is great!
I find it interesting to see people on here losing their 💩 on the sanctity of WCs being ruined by Serena getting one. Give me a break!!! WCs are political almost by definition. At least you can somewhat justify giving one to like….the best female athlete of All Time?
I love being an Italian American because of guys like this! nitter.gq/wimbledon/status/20720…
Reese Stalder @TCUMensTennis MD @Wimbledon dubs. Is the son of Diane Desfor & Curtis Stalder both former pros Diane got to 32 in the World & was quite possibly the nicest tennis player I ever met & Curt is a great dude too!
