Got a bit energized today at practice, throwing for a new PR at 83mph. For a guy who hasn’t thrown competitive in years, started coaching and have the privilege to do what I love while growing myself 💪🏻 The boys I have are awesome 😎

Fine, I'll do Specialists:
Punter- 6'3" Neurotic and borderline on the spectrum. Very laid back, gets along with everyone on the team, only can tell he has the tism when you talk to him about punting mechanics. Glue guy, holds the whole unit together, team and fans love him. 1/3
Building the ideal NFL DEFENSE based entirely on their relationship situation:
DE1: 6’6 lumberjack from Montana. Married his high school sweetheart. Owns 40 acres and chops wood for fun.
DT1: 340-pound Polynesian. Wife and 4 kids. Entire extended family at every home game. Elite surfer.
DT2: 330-pound Polynesian. Married at 21. Elite surfer. Has 14 cousins who could also play D1 football.
DE2: Another lumberjack. Lives in Wyoming. Wife, 3 kids, pickup truck. Has never been to a nightclub.
MLB: Married with 3 kids. Wife runs the entire household. Knows every defensive assignment but couldn’t name his kids’ teachers. Beautiful mid
OLB1: Girlfriend of 6 years. Refuses to propose because “marriage is just a piece of paper.” She has a ring Pinterest board with 900 pins.
OLB2: Married at 22. Met his wife at Bible study. Hunts every offseason. Has never downloaded a dating app.
CB1: Completely single. Dating 3 women who all think they’re exclusive. Following 5,000 women on Instagram. Let him play man coverage.
CB2: Dating an Instagram model with 600k followers. They unfollow each other after every loss. Somehow plays better when they’re fighting.
Nickel CB: 5’9 with a 5’11 girlfriend who played D1 volleyball. Brings up that he plays in the NFL within 45 seconds of meeting anyone.
FS: Married to a nurse. Completely normal relationship. Goes straight home after practice. You need at least one mentally stable DB.
SS: 6 kids with 4 women. Currently engaged to none of them. Hits like a missile. Leads the NFL in unnecessary roughness.
This defense allows 16.8 PPG and has 4 separate HR investigations by Week 11.
Justin Verlander finishes his legendary career with 3,560 strikeouts 👏

There is an entire generation of Tigers fans who will have a chapter close for them today.
Justin Verlander wasnt just a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers. He was a sign of hope, turned sign of dominance. He carried the franchise on his back from the minute he was announced as the 2nd Overall pick out of Old Dominion.
Thankful to grow up watching #MustSeeJV

Troy Melton has been locked in on the bump this season 😮

Over 3000 players have debuted in the majors at 21 or younger in the modern era (since 1900).
Only one of them had 5+ total bases in each of his first 2 career games: Max Clark.
1st game: single, double, double
2nd game: homer, single
The Max Clark era begins!
Excited to see the young stud add to the core we already have with McGonigle , Dingler , Valencia, Lee.
Let’s make a splash!

I know it’s a different game now etc but prime Max or JV are never ever coming off the mound in this spot with the season in the balance.

Even if the Tigers trade Tarik Skubal (which is fine), people need to stop with the “season is over” narrative.
They have four less wins than their division leader with 54 games left to play. Considering how the last two seasons ended for the Tigers, how is it irrational to think a team could overcome that deficit?
