🚨An Open letter to the CodeThreeNews Community: One year ago today, I started this journey not knowing if anyone would care. Today, I am sitting here with a full heart, humbled by the fact that so many of you do. One follow turned into hundreds, then thousands. People began sharing our reports, sending tips, trusting us with information from their neighborhoods, and helping get the word out when something was happening around them. People I had never met took the time to support something I was building from the ground up. I may have started this account, but I did not build this community alone. You helped build it with me, and I want you to know that I will never forget that. I grew up in Boyle Heights. I know what these communities mean to the people who call them home. My years in law enforcement gave me another perspective on the work, the responsibility, and the reality behind what we hear on the radio. Those experiences helped shape the mission, but it is the people who have supported this journey who have given it a life of its own. My promise to you is not perfection. My promise to you is that I will continue to strive for accuracy, transparency, and accountability, because the people who trust this page deserve nothing less. To every person who follows us, thank you. To everyone who reposts our reports so someone else can be informed, thank you. To the people who send tips, share what they see, and trust us with information from their neighborhoods, thank you. To those who check in on me personally, ask how I’m doing, encourage me when things get difficult, and remind me why I started, thank you. To the people who have defended us when we were criticized, stood beside us when things got uncomfortable, and believed in our intentions even when it would have been easier to walk away, I hope you know how much that has meant to me. Some of you have been here since day one. Others found us yesterday. It doesn’t matter when you arrived. If you’ve given CodeThreeNews even a moment of your time, there are no words to tell you how thankful I am. And to @Noticiasenlacalle, thank you for being part of this journey and for helping show what independent voices can accomplish when they work together. I know there is more to do. There are more stories to tell, more communities to serve, and more ways to grow. I don’t know exactly where the next year will take us, but I know what I will carry into it; determination, transparency, and gratitude for every person who has helped make this possible. I will never be too proud to admit a mistake, too big to listen, or too busy to appreciate the people who made this journey worthwhile. And I will never forget that behind every number on a screen is a real person who chose to give a man with a scanner, a phone and a lot of time on his hands, a chance… To everyone who has been part of the first year of CodeThreeNews: from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.

🚨#SouthLA: LAPD officers are on scene in the 300 block of 57th St. searching for a reported armed suspect.

🚨 #Pasadena Update: Preliminary reports of a Pasadena PD officer-involved shooting were unsubstantiated. Pasadena police officers were on scene when the suspect reportedly shot himself.

Update: At least one person was trapped inside the vehicle early radio traffic, and presumably transported to a local hospital. No reports of any other injuries.

🚨LASD Deputies are out with a shooting victim in the 6800 block of Paramount Blvd. One victim shot, suffering from a GSW to the hand. Per radio traffic, the shooting occurred in the Compton Area.

🚨#Watts: LAPD is responding Code 3 to 92nd St/Graham Ave. for a reported train vs vehicle crash. Multiple calls received.

🚨LAPD is on scene of a reported shooting just occurred near Vermont/Rosewood in the E Hollywood area. One person has been shot, and is being transported to a local hospital.

🚨#Sacramento: The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting on Fulton Ave near Michelle Dr. The Citrus Heights Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and the Sheriff's Office are on scene. One suspect was reportedly shot and transported to the hospital.

🚨#SouthLA: LAPD officers are on scene near 95th St./Broadway searching for a possible carjacking suspect. The suspect described as a male black, Took a FedEx truck, with the driver still inside. The FedEx worker was either ejected or fell from the truck, and was transported to the hospital in “Pretty bad shape” per radio traffic. A large perimeter has been set up in the area.

🚨#Pasadena Shooting Update: This was an Officer-Involved Shooting.

🚨#Pasadena: Police are investigating a shooting that occurred a short time ago at E Glenarm St./ S Arroyo Parkway. One person was reportedly shot, unknown on the status of the victim at this time.
