Brazilian federal police are checking border crossings to determine whether Flávio Bolsonaro fled the country after losing the presidential election to Lula.
Argentine media reported that he may have crossed into Argentina to board a private jet to the U.S., but Brazilian and Argentine authorities found no record of his entry. An ally denied he had left Brazil.
The investigation follows a Supreme Court order revoking his passports and banning him from leaving the country.

Flávio Bolsonaro abandoned his effort to annul Brazil’s election amid fears that he could be imprisoned, according to a Bolsonaro family adviser.
“Flávio has given up,” the adviser told The Washington Post.
