Some people are great at what they do and others, like my great friend Ernie Johnson, become the standard by which everyone else is measured.
Ernie helped create something special. He wasn't just the anchor of Inside the NBA, he was the heart and the glue that brought together very different personalities and made the chemistry feel like family. 37 seasons of earning people’s trust, making them laugh, informing them, and becoming part of their lives is quite the accomplishment. I had the privilege of sharing that desk with Ernie from 2003 – 2007 and what stood out to me wasn't just his talent, preparation, or professionalism - it was the man. His character, his humility, his integrity, and the respect he showed everyone around him.
Ernie, thank you for your friendship, and for setting the standard. The show may never be quite the same, but your impact will never leave. Enjoy this next chapter with your family my brother, you've earned it! @TurnerSportsEJ
