so instead of just saying you feel your friends bday is unimportant, why do all this mental gymnastics to avoid saying that

She knows them well enough to call them her friend. She knows them well enough for them to be around her child and invited to big events for her family. You can’t ask people to show up for you if you are not going to show up for them.

One of my coworkers has a single last name that is 3 separate words. I can recall what language it is. She said people try to separate it and she explains this is my full last name you can't take parts of it. I bet this is a nightmare for her.
hey @USPS have you considered that some people have two last names that are separate, no hyphen?

#Hokum could have done without the witch. I didn't feel like the witch really added to the story that much.

I'm about 25 minutes into #Hokum, is the main character SUPPOSED to be this deeply unlikable? Like does that come up as a plot point later 😂?

When I went to pick up my name tag at the conference they weren't sure which last name was used to put it in alphabetical order. I said oh, this is my life now. Isn't there a standard practice for hypenated names?

A lot of married couples with kids just don't want to admit that they don't want to put in effort with their other relationships anymore so they justify it by villainizing childfree, single people. I know married couples who have a strong village bc they still put effort!
The Discourse ™️ today is depressing. Not only do people refuse to interact with anyone beyond spouses and children, but they are openly hostile towards people who try to plan things!

This childfree weekend discourse is insane, we need to wrap it up. I’m seeing some of y’all saying it would even be unreasonable to leave a 2+ year old with your spouse for a weekend to spend time with your friends. Grass needs to be touched.

Your life is over after 30 according to twitter 😂 pack that shit up and good luck.
We can’t celebrate our birthdays by throwing parties or having a weekend away. We can’t like books and movies “for children”. We can’t collect stuff. We can’t write fanfics or enjoy fandom. All we’re allowed to do at 30 as women is get married, breed and do our taxes.

Sally Field says Robin Williams shut down filming on Mrs. Doubtfire for the day when he found out her father had just died "I got a call from the doctor that my father had had another massive stroke." "But please lean down and tell him that Sally says goodbye." "I was doing the scene about the kids being taken away from the father. It was what happened to my father." "And Robin turned around and said, that's it for the day, guys. We're just wrapped here. We're done for the day." She went straight from that phone call to a scene about a family getting split up, and she was a child of divorce herself. Nobody on that set knew. Robin just noticed something was off and asked her. Then he did the one thing the guy at the top of the call sheet can always do. He ended the day and walked her out himself. More than thirty years later she still tells it like it happened last week. ft: @people People on youtube
