Democrats are going to win the House, they’re probably plus 15 on seats. Republicans are pulling money out of certain races and they’re moving it into Senate races where things look closer. To flip the Senate, you need Maine, Texas, and Kansas is in play. Every one of these races is inside the margin of error. But I’ll say something people aren’t going to like: Trump under-polls. People get asked “are you voting for Trump?” They say no because they don’t want to be perceived as a racist, don’t want to be seen liking someone unpopular. Then they close the curtain and vote for him. He’s constantly been under-polled. Which means he has a real chance to keep the Senate.

Stunning piece about yet another old-guard, high-level, billionaire supporter of Israel who has lost faith in it - and in Netanyahu. "Ronald Lauder has never lived in Israel. But in the past year the Jewish billionaire, who serves as president of the World Jewish Congress, has given up his remaining properties in the country, a sign of the deep shift in his views of its future. A deep sense of disgust appears on his face as he recounts this. "I've sold my apartment in Tel Aviv, I gave my home in Be'er Sheva to the Jewish National Fund, of which I'm also the chairman. I basically cut my ties there. Because it has become so…," Lauder grimaces, making a gesture of vomiting. He goes on to blame Israel for failing to make peace, explaining that Israel actually didn't want peace: "I realized at the end of the day that Israel really didn't want peace, but they wanted dominance. And I walked away from it." "You've lost the Democratic Party, and you're losing the Republican Party. And it's all because of foolishness on your part. I want to tell Israelis, 'Shame on you! Shame on all of you. Your fathers and your grandfathers fought for this place, and you're losing it because of foolishness. Period.'" I think this reflects the view of many who fought to establish Israel/supported its creation, but at the same time believed in peace. Perhaps an unjust peace, clearly a peace on Israel's terms - but a peace nonetheless. But Israel has long swapped dominance and control for peace, and it has taken quite some time for many of its original supporters and champions to realize it - and admit to themselves the direction Israel actually is going in. haaretz.com/israel-news/elec…

Abdul El-Sayed: Trump has tactics. He doesn't have strategies. Strategies require a kind of patience and a kind of long-term thinking about the consequences of your actions. Trump has never shown long-term thinking about the consequences of his actions, nor has he ever shown any discipline about being able to persist in a process.

Abdul El-Sayed: “We are being actively bullied by the dumbest people in the room. Donald Trump is an idiot. He has one genius which is getting attention. Because his dad never gave him enough, because he was a nepo baby, he craved attention and used the bullying tactics to get it. But the man is an idiot. Just a fool”

Wow! Canadian journalist asks Moshe Feiglin, a former Likud Member of Knesset, if he is concerned about Israel's plummeting global standing. Feiglin's response is chilling, as it reveals the fundamental supremacist view he and many in Israel hold. He says that the real moral supreme court is in Israel, ie with the people of Israel. The Bible says, he explains, that those who bless Israel will be blessed, and those who curse Israel will be cursed. As a result, it's we - Israelis - who get to judge you, rather than you judging us. And then he adds? "Are you with the children of God or not?"

If Netanyahu wins tomorrow's election, it would be a blow to hopes for democracy in Israel -- he could finish what he started in 2022, an effort to undermine the judiciary and give himself effectively unchecked power. trib.al/e9ctnyv

Israel has committed war crimes and the crimes against humanity of extermination, persecution, torture, rape and other forms of sexual violence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, intentionally targeting Palestinian civilians as it continues to commit genocide in Gaza, the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel said in a new report today. ohchr.org/en/press-releases/…

🇮🇱 Far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's Jewish Power party is poised to win eight or more seats running on its own in Tuesday's election, up from the six it won in 2022 on a joint far-right list. Among Israelis aged 18 to 22, it would take nearly 9% of the vote, according to a poll reported by Ynet, the equivalent of about 15 seats. Up to a third of its supporters will be voting for the first time, a survey at Hebrew University found. Ben-Gvir has pushed through a law making hanging the default sentence for Palestinians convicted in military courts of deadly attacks on Israelis, starved and tortured Palestinian prisoners, and vowed to "conquer Gaza, because it's all ours." "I used to think he was a bit crazy, but then I actually looked at what he was saying, and it all made sense," Gavriel Marmon, an 18-year-old first-time voter from Beit Shemesh, told Reuters. 🎥 The Guardian spoke to some other young Israelis outside a Ben-Gvir rally. Full video in reply.

🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 Israeli forces raid a home, then bring in a BULLDOZER to tear up its courtyard! Absolutely disgusting to watch... Surveillance footage shows Israeli forces entering the property before a military bulldozer moves in to raze it. Whatever the justification, watching a family's property get ripped apart like this is pretty fking sickening. Source: Bint Jbeil News (TG) / Writer: Samuel

🇮🇱🇺🇸 A Pulitzer winner says Zionism began as a Protestant fantasy a century before Herzl, and the Jews who warned it would bring endless war were branded self-hating... a new book brings them back from exile Palestine was 95 to 97% non-Jewish when the movement began, and one early leader's goal was to make it as Jewish as England is English, so Jewish critics called the project a catastrophe from day one. Benjamin Moser, whose grandfather fled Nazi Germany in 1938, says: "Zionism has nothing to do with the Holocaust. Zionism exploited the Holocaust." Benjamin says Hannah Arendt hinted at Zionist dealings with the Nazis in Eichmann in Jerusalem and was hounded so completely that the Jewish press barely marked her death. He argues a Star of David on every tank means the backlash to Israel's conduct puts all Jews in grave danger, which is why the anti-Zionist Jews he writes about are screaming themselves hoarse to say this is not us. @WeTheBrandon

Barack Obama on Iran: Let's think about this Iran war. The original rationale was, we're going to go in there and get them to give up their nuclear program, their nuclear weapons. Now, the thing was, Iran didn't have nuclear weapons because I had put a deal in place that everybody acknowledged kept them from getting nukes. And I didn't have to fire a missile to do it. I just had to engage in diplomacy.

🇺🇸 Investigators tracing possible foreign ties to Charlie Kirk’s assassination were reportedly ordered to drop it. Joe Kent says his team was still digging into international links when someone shut the work down and handed them a simple answer: “We were stopped. We were told, hey, it’s a lone gunman. Nothing else to see here.” If the lone gunman story is airtight, why stop the people trying to prove it? @joekent16jan19
🇺🇸 🇮🇷 Iran’s smartest play in a third round could be blacking out power grids and cutting the Gulf’s internet cables. Joe Kent, the former director of the National Counterterrorism Center, says going after a senior US official would be the least efficient move Tehran could make, even though anyone plotting one only needs a single shot: “They essentially only have to get lucky once.” If round three starts, the first sign may be the lights going out across the Gulf. @joekent16jan19
