alongside @IAFreedomRiders we wrote a response to the university's "new" plans for safety and policing from the "reimagining campus safety committee" we must never accept reformist responses that ignore the most marginalized on campus

Completely unraveled by @dylanrodriguez’s keynote at #AbolitionsConf entitled “Counterinsurgency in/as ‘Abolition’” this afternoon. Such tremendous thinking about the relationship between abolition, warfare, and liberal-progressive blocs beyond and within higher education.

my friend got pulled over for expired tag on friday. cop told her they could arrest her and put her children up for adoption if they wanted to. her kids, my godchildren, were in the backseat and began to cry. cops lie to instill terror even in children.

If you mention #AssataShakur then you should talk about ALL political prisoners, especially the father of her daughter, Black Panther Vet #KamauSadiki who is serving Life+10 years for not turning her in. Check out this interview with his daughter K'Sisay: youtube.com/live/t7t_M70uDSY…

Today in the U.S., corporations will steal $137 million in wages, rich people will steal $2.75 billion in taxes, and 1,300 people will die from poverty, air pollution, and medical error. Think about who benefits from the news ignoring this and focusing on low-level crime instead.

Earlier this week, our organizers joined community members in visiting local businesses that have ties with “Cop City” in solidarity with the #defendtheatlantaforest movement. There is evil in our own backyard and we are putting them on notice.
Group of community members holding signs and standing in front of an office building that houses Cushman & Wakefield. Signs read “Stop cop city now! Defund the police” “Fund people’s needs not cop city!” “police are domestic terrorists” “Stop police terror!” “Free the activists! Drop the charges!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your campus’s disability services office that begrudgingly allocates accommodations to students in order to avoid violating federal law is not practicing disability justice.

New study shows 43 of the 50 most populous cities in the US spend more on police, jails, courts, etc than on health & human svcs, public health, parks & rec, etc. This spending ratio is not correlated to public safety at all. journals.plos.org/plosone/ar…

A still from the show Gilmore Girls of the character Jess facing towards the camera and looking at Rory Gilmore, the back of whose head is towards the camera. The caption is the Ruth Wilson Gilmore quote: "I actually think that things should belong to all of us: that nobody, anywhere, at any time, should lack for food, shelter, health care, education, clean water, the kinds of things that we can only produce if we produce them together."

“I don't care how much theory you got, if it don't have any practice applied to it, then that theory happens to be irrelevant.” The FBI and Chicago PD murdered Black Panther chairman Fred Hampton in his sleep on this day in 1969. He was only 21 years old.

Gore Vidal famously said: "There is only one party in the US, the Property Party. And it has two right wings" Disgusting how corporate outlets are happy to parrot the "devastating impact" of a strike but not the "minimal impact" of workers' demands on capitalists' huge profits

"Dr. King's policy was...if you suffer, your opponent will see your suffering & will be moved to change his heart. That's very good. He only made one fallacious assumption. In order for nonviolence to work, your opponent must have a conscience. The U.S. has none." Kwame Ture

Words I contemplate daily from the brilliant @prisonculture,"I see abolition as a process, not a destination. That means that you're always in motion and you're always trying to figure out what the next best step is. That's just a part of an abolitionist organizing practice (1/3)
