This Imam is involved in a program that works with cops and Public Safety Canada. One of his only quotes in the newspaper talks about supporting Jewish people. Brad only uplifts this particular Muslim leader because he is strategically useful to power, Zionism and policing.
I'm grateful to Imam Ismail Ulghar for calling from his Umrah pilgrimage to offer his blessings and making dua. Imam Ismail is a well-known Islamic scholar in Ontario and across Canada, and his kind words about our campaign and our shared commitment to building a better Toronto for everyone are deeply appreciated.

David Graeber explained that one of the ways that Neoliberalism functions is through hopelessness. Kill our hope until we think there is no point anymore. Lula's amazing victory shows there still is hope. We should never give up!!!
Seven years ago, Lula was in prison serving an unjust conviction. Today, he is the re-elected president of Brazil. In 2018, he said “there is no point in trying to end my ideas, they are already lingering in the air”. Lula’s ideas don't just linger. They live! Viva Lula!

NEW: The Pakistani, Saudi and Turkish guests hosted in Tehran yesterday asked Mohsen Rezaee, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, about the status of talks with Washington. Rezaee is said to have told them Iran could shorten the implementation timeline of its seven-condition proposal to the Trump administration. If “the only issue is the number of days,” Rezaee's deputy at the SNSC, Ali Baqeri-Kani quoted him as saying, Iran could accept five or even four days instead of seven. Yet the core obstacle is not speed or even substance, but sequencing. To break the deadlock, senior political sources in Tehran told @amwajmedia, Iran last month proposed through Qatar a seven-day plan to end the war, under which Hormuz would reopen on Day 6 and final-deal talks would resume on Day 7. Squeezing that timeline to four or five days does not change the dispute over sequencing. The Islamabad MOU agreed between Iran and the United States in June is a two-stage accord. Under its Paragraph 13, talks on a final deal, including on Iran's nuclear program, can begin only once five measures are being implemented, and they must continue while talks run. The Trump administration now seems to want core elements of the endgame up front. If that includes Iran's uranium stockpile, Tehran would be trading irreversible steps for easily reversible ones. In such a scenario, the Islamic Republic may calculate that peace today could ensure a much more costly war tomorrow. Trump has said he is weighing a deal with Iran against military action to “finish them off.” It is an open question whether the president has any real interest in a mutually acceptable formula. After all, Trump may already have been persuaded that a deal will not deliver what one final blow against the Islamic Republic just might. If that is the case, Tehran may not be caught off guard this time.

One of the most endearing things that told me a lot about his character was rather than jumping on the hate-fuelled bandwagon for restricting/ shutting down Ridgeway Plaza, he conveyed the intrinsic importance of third spaces for immigrant communities; protecting it and reimagining it so that it continues to serve as a thriving cultural space as opposed to being seen in this negative, xenophobic light as the narrative was being constructed online in recent times about the noise or garbage.
Alvin Tedjo didn't play the political game. Instead, he spent the election going from cafe to restaurant to community centre, meeting Mississaugans where they are. This city just a long overdue generational shift and, as a long time resident, I'm excited to see what happens next.

Precisely. It started with Clinton; this idea that classical liberals had to abandon their liberalism in order to remain appealing to the public, as opposed to standing firm on their positions or radicalizing them further. That this was the only way. This thinking being a counteraction against the tide of sweeping neoliberalism ushered in with Reagan's socio-economic warfare during the 1980s. For years now Democrats like Obama/ Biden/ Harris consistently pushed centrist-at-best policies and the same old wall street corporate agendas, while presenting themselves as radicals who were working for popular wellbeing. Bernie and AOC are stark reminders of this too; and what Zohran will be forced to do as well. The Democratic Party anywhere else would be seen as center-Right anywhere else; not even liberal. Aligning or attempting to work within their confines will only force you to adopt their interests, as opposed to the opposite happening. They're disproportionately corporatist in every way. They are the party of Wallstreet dressed up in feel-good identity politics and a progressivism that is only about optics. Over the last 15 years, they realized that they could use the fervor of radicalism, especially after the Occupy Movement to their advantage. That there was a young angry base which could be lured in to support them if they merely adopted their aesthetic, not necessarily their demands. They only adopt the language and veneer of socialism to lure in young voters; to misdirect and then stifle any inkling of true radical, revolutionary potential from taking hold or threatening the corporatist Democratic establishment. They will never do anything to actually threaten or overthrow the structures that devastate and sow misery in the lives of Americans. They cosplay as radical and use all the right words, but it's purely theatrical— never substantive in actual policy. They show concern and offer compassion, they wear the mask of solidarity well. Yet they only offer meager concessions to appease the wave of demand or anger; to stop them right there from continuing towards achieving the ultimate end goal that would ensure actual, meaningful, material change. From ever addressing the root causes. Obama at the forefront of this political phenomena in turn pushed conservatives further to the Right than they already were, to differentiate themselves from these neoliberal centrists. And so, as everyone in the political establishment keeps pushing further to the Right within the spectrum— that's how fascism is normalized and emboldened. Not to mention that the issues people need addressed, never are. Only leaving them disillusioned with the false hopes and lies liberals peddle; further pushing them to find solace in populist and the cultist pull of the far-right as we see with MAGA.

A lot of people don’t want US-Israel wars, and the genocide in Palestine. There are workers strategically placed to seriously impede the carnage. I went to Italy to talk to those workers about how they are organizing to strike and stop the war machine.
New article from me: “Livorno’s Dockworkers Are Learning How to Jam the War Machine” “‘If a ship is delayed by one day, the delays pile up, and a logistics mechanism breaks,” Ceraolo said. “It’s a political signal, but also economic damage.’” progressive.international/wi…

B.C.’s incoming premier Lorne Doerkson has pledged to make Jewish security a priority, including adopting the IHRA definition of antisemitism and strengthening campus protections. It's been known from the beginning that every single nation in the region and beyond has the capabilities to support Gaza in more than useless, empty statements. It has also been known that not supporting Gaza was a conscious decision they made. It was left to the Resistance groups and Iran to do something meaningful for Gaza. God-willing, those who stand by and watch as Gaza is starved and obliterated will bear the consequences of their neutrality, for it is as Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said: The cost of steadfastness and Resistance is far less than the cost of submission, compromise, and surrender. And by the way, we do not hate on the Egyptian regime enough.
