Federal spending should be limited to things the federal government is uniquely empowered to do, like providing for America’s national defense.

A lot of people would have argued that prior to Pearl Harbor, Japan was zero threat to the United States.
As a matter of fact, 85% of Americans opposed us entering World War II until after Pearl Harbor. Do we always have to wait until after the disaster to take action?
We only stopped letting people carry knives onto commercial aircraft after 9/11. Don't you wish we had stopped allowing that before?
