Fantastic news! (We hope). Kudos to Glasgow library users who marched, campaigned, got The Scotsman on board to campaign for all libraries and turned out week after week for read-ins outside the threatened libraries.

When Carnegie gifted 16 libraries to Glasgow in 1901 he wrote, "Let Glasgow flourish, so say we all of us Scotsmen throughout the world."
Today Glaswegians marched to reaffirm these words. We demand all our libraries, sport and cultural venues are reopened, and no jobs are lost.
