Trick or Treating has dropped off in our neighborhood since ours were little. But there are still a few, and it is delightful to see them. Next kids at the door are getting big handfuls- I don’t want any leftover candy.
When I was a teenager I became a fan of the original Star Trek. Reruns were on every afternoon and I watched through the whole series several times. My senior year The Next Generation came out. I tried but never really got into it. Still, Patrick Stewart was solid in everything he did. Rest in peace.
This is the 4th roof I've redone in my life. Two observations: I'm so glad I don't do this professionally, and I'm getting too old to be comfortable up this high.
How do you stop meatloaf from getting overdone on bottom where it rests on the pan? Anyone with meatloaf skill seeing this?
This is subjective…but name three perfect movies. No argument. No explanation. Just three flicks you think are perfect. Here are mine:
Blues Brothers
Ernest Saves Christmas
Die Hard
One thing I hope we can do soon with AI is to individually edit movies to suit our preferences. If I think Aslan should be voiced by a man- run the movie through a filter and Boom- Aslan sounds like Morgan Freeman. If I want the story but not the graphic violence, Boom- it's edited out. If an actor I dislike takes me out of the movie, Boom- Sean Pen is replaced with the likeness of Sam Elliot. The director can put out their version to be appreciated or not, and then the audience can tweak it to make it better.
When did "I" and "0" become the symbols for "on" and "off"? Anyway, after 30 minutes I finally got the new generator running. – at Hoover, AL
Alabama has tons of odd, wonderful, strange town and place names, like the community of slick Lizard outside the town of Nauvoo. I'm on a quest to get a t-shirt from as many of these places as I can. – at Homewood, AL
I found a cool book by some British guys about making walking sticks. I told some friends and they said 'you're not old, and why wouldn't you just buy one at a drug store?' Some people just don't get it. – at Homewood, AL
I don't watch a lot of TV, but I'm more interested in y'all's "best of" lists than I am that of the NY times. My favorite TV of this century:
The Unit
My Name is Earl
Breaking Bad
Justified
Shetland
Downton Abbey – at Homewood, AL
