Every swing state voter for the next 8 weeks will be talking about Canada. Trump’s team have made their bravado the number one issue in all the places they need votes. Maybe they were trying to distract from other failures, but they woke up voters to a simple wtf proposition.

Democrat Nancy Lacore, a retired Navy admiral who was FIRED by Pete Hegseth, is projected to WIN the congressional seat formerly held by Republican Nancy Mace, according to Decision Desk HQ. Trump won this district by 13 POINTS in 2024! Lacore, who served more than 30 years in the Navy and oversaw more than 60,000 sailors, campaigned against Hegseth’s disastrous Pentagon leadership and Trump’s increasingly unpopular war in Iran. Now she’s headed to Congress after flipping a traditionally Republican district that had been gerrymandered to favor the GOP.

President Trump has been asking advisers around him and on the phone whether Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth should stay in his job, following Republicans' losses Tuesday night, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell CBS News. Some White House aides have predicted some of the blame for GOP midterm losses will be trained on Adm. Brad Cooper, the head of U.S. Central Command, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, who both played big roles in guidance on Iran war. Read more: cbsn.ws/4yWt7I9

As always in trade disputes with USA, the right play for Canada was to rag the puck.
This is good advice. Ignore the hurry-a-deal brigade. They would have had us gut CUSMA months ago, by agreeing to high tariffs in the name of "certainty". CUSMA is still intact. The President is now less free to do as he wishes with it. Patience and resilience paid off. They will pay off further. We must find the voices in the new Congress (in January), in the states, in the business community who wish to restore sanity, not just deal with Trump misperceptions.

The incoming House Speaker, Feb 10 "lets wipe out the unnecessary tariffs imposed on 🇨🇦." The incoming Senate Majority Leader, Oct 29 "we can’t let this nonsensical trade war with 🇨🇦 continue." Auto-state Senate flips in MI, OH, GA, SC, NC, KA, TX. I'd say it was a good night.

Elon Musk moved his businesses (SpaceX, X, Tesla) to Texas to escape the liberal woke mind virus in California, and now Texas is a blue state. I love that for him.

I believe Canada withstood the Second World War for well over two and a half years.
Kate Harrison, responding to JP Tasker, turns the focus back home: “The government has looked to blame our economic situation heavily on the tariff impacts… Just before the comment on the weekend from the prime minister, he had told Politico we were prepared to wait another two and a half years to deal with the tariff dispute. So how can this both be the greatest economic crisis since the Second World War, but also something that Canada is prepared to withstand for another two and a half years?” Economic reality, Harrison says, is colliding with political reality for Carney @KatlynHarrison

From the Book of Disk, Chapter 3 In the beginning there were the First Drives, and their names were A: and B:, and they were the floppies. They were not elegant. They were thin, fragile, and demanded constant sacrifice disk swaps, write protect tabs, the ritual of “please insert the disk labeled” performed under fluorescent lights. To them the early machines bent the knee, for without them there was no boot, no data, no word processor. Then came the hard drive, and it was called C:, for it arrived third. It did not ask to be first. It merely sat in the bay and spun, and the people saw that it was good, and that it held far more than any floppy, and that it did not rattle when you walked too fast. So they installed the operating system upon it, and called it the system drive, and the old gods were not cast down but simply… left in the BIOS, still reserved, still acknowledged in the table of letters, though no one invoked them anymore. And Microsoft looked upon the generations that followed, who had never known the click of a 5.25-inch disk or the careful alignment of a 3.5, and it said: The children must not be shown the old gods. For if the new ones learned that A: and B: once ruled, they might ask why the alphabet begins elsewhere. They might attempt to summon the floppies by force, or rename the world so that C: was no longer first. And the installers would break, and the paths would fracture, and the registry would weep. So the letters remain sealed, A: and B: still written in the book but never spoken aloud by the system, while C: stands in the open as if it had always been the beginning. Thus it is written, and thus it remains; the hard drive is C:, and the old gods sleep in the assignment table, undisturbed, so that the children may believe the world has always started with the letter that came third.

Future generations will never believe that the most powerful country on earth elected this imbecile twice, or that grown men, successful business leaders, fawned over him in public and prolapsed their dignity as if they were North Korean generals in fear of imminent execution. A sorry tale.
