Lot of noise today around Aster, @DefiLlama & @Dune Quick context from the guy who actually built the Dune dashboard everyone’s quoting 😅 @dethective This started off with DeFiLlama shutting down Aster’s API after seeing signs of wash trading But @shilllin decided to dunk on Defillama while Dune unknowingly amplified it without knowing the full context @arno39 I used DeFiLlama’s public API as the data source, & Dune was only the visualization layer to compare (Aster vs Hyperliquid vs Lighter) and show how skewed the metrics were Dune & DeFiLlama serve different purposes - Llama aggregates data from protocols. - Dune lets you query or visualize it. At the end of the day, Dune dashboards are only as good as the person who built the query. Trust Dune charts only if you can verify the logic yourself or if it’s an official Editor’s Pick. DeFiLlama, on the other hand, aggregates protocol reported data under one roof. Most people in CT trust brand names, not backend logic. So when you have 🤡 KOLs like @shilllin paid to push sus projects, it’s important that someone credible speaks up.
