Last year, school strikes resulted in 25 million school days being lost cumulatively. Children should not have to suffer a repeat of this disruption. I’m announcing that we will introduce minimum service levels in schools so that pupils get the education they need and deserve.

The DFE announcing another ‘Expert Group’ on teacher recruitment and retention this week. They love an expert group. Decades of them. My 2 things: 🎯Guarantee minimum 1 PPA a day, target 2 PPA a day 🎯Remove OFSTED gradings, scrap OFSTED in current form Instead of spending £1000s on more cosy meetings - do these and do them now and watch the landscape transform.
