In April 1992, while at home with her husband and two daughters, Bakira Hasečić answered a knock on her door. The local police chief, along with 15 other men entered her home. They placed the family on house arrest, repeatedly raped Bakira and her eldest daughter and robbed them of their savings.

Have a read of this blog to understand how the #CostOfLivingCrisis is worsening #healthinequities in the Muslim community by intensifying the intersection of socio-economic #deprivation, #Islamophobia & #COVID19

“The intersection of socio-economic deprivation, Islamophobia and COVID-19 is being intensified by the cost of living crisis and urgent action must be taken,” writes @Muslimdoctors: ow.ly/bm5T50JbYNQ #EverythingAffectsHealth

Wonderful news! So great to see this taking off nationally!
We're excited to be working with the @ukmedschools EDI alliance to build on this resource & develop guidance with other faith groups. Special thanks and credit to @enamhaque31 for his tireless work on #EDI.
So proud of our students. They are now supporting other health programmes at UoM & other medical schools nationally in creating similar Muslim student guides.
It’s also been the catalyst for the @ukmedschools developing a faiths guidance for medical school staff
