I stopped donating when CPC refused to take responsibility for the pilot which brought e-bikes, & e-scooters to Central Park. Leadership claimed they had no part in this and no power to change it. Nor would they speak against it as they were not in a position too! Apparently not when it came to horse carriages where Betsy Smith made a clear statement about banning them!CPC worked on and presented the new road design which opened a superhighway on the loop for e-bikes. A BQE for commercial delivery workers and their corporate masters. The community opposed all of it pointing out its dangers. No one listened and now we see the results! Death and injury.
No one should donate to the CPC unless they understand that their actions or lack of them has made a danger zone of Central Park! E-bikes should be banned from Central Park immediately! City council members are having trouble extracting basic data from Mamdani admin/agencies on edevice crashes - eg how can the city periodically publish press releases on crashes of illegal e-bikes but at the same time not collect basic data on illegal ebike proliferation? (Answer is more attention paid to vehicles involved in serious crashes.)

Mamdani wants NO age verification!! What are they unleashing on this city?? Between Trans Alt, the DOT and the Mayor I think their ideologies make them blind. Friends of mine came into the city to go to a play by car. They would have gone by bus, but there was no service late to return home. So they reluctantly took their car. While driving in Midtown they said they came within an inch or two of colliding with two e-bikes. They were horrified. Said they'd never come in by car again. But of course the Mayor and others in this sad case involving children will blame the truck driver!
