Our recent @J_A_C_S represents first example of water-stable 2D hybrid halide compound with ideal 180° Pb−I−Pb bond angle leading to very small bandgap, exciton binding energy and improved PV performance doi.org/10.1021/jacs.3c03300 @I_am__Debasmita, @TeamM2S2 and other authors.
Our recent @PhysRevB article maps the T-P structural phase diagram of 8% Cr-doped VO2. Notably, none of the observed phases exhibit V-V dimerization or tilting, typically observed for pure and lightly doped VO2. Congrats to @mandalsayak95 and other authors doi.org/10.1103/h4d9-6kg9
We are pleased to announce that Prof. Srimanta Middey (@Middey_Sri), Associate Professor, Department of Physics, IISc, and a former member of the DDS group, has been selected to receive the 2026 SMC Bronze Medal. Heartiest congratulations to him.
Recent @ChemMater as part of a special issue “Honoring the Outstanding Contributions of Mercouri Kanatzidis to Chemistry of Materials” explores how lone pair effects and octahedral tilting drive polar-polar transitions in CsGeI3.Congrats to all the authors doi.org/10.1021/acs.chemmate…
Our recent article in Small @WileyGlobal addresses: Why is quantum-cutting in Yb3+-doped CsPbCl3 thermally-activated, despite being a down-conversion process? Also a first glimpse into the nature of the two photons emitted. Congrats to @POULOMI33303351

We are pleased to announce that our former group member, Prof. Srimanta Middey (@Middey_Sri ) [Associated Professor, Department of Physics, IISc], has been awarded 'IISc Research Award 2026'. Heartiest congratulations to him.
Our collaborative work by @I_am__Debasmita with @shaibalksarkar team is now published! Using sputtered NiO HTL+thin buffer interface, 23.45% (rigid) & 22.1% (flexible) PCE are achieved, a major leap for fully inorganic n–i–p PSCs. Congrats to all. doi.org/10.1002/aenm.2025032…
D. D. Sarma's Group retweeted
The intellectual crescendo of Day 01 at ICMG-IV rose further as the second Keynote Lecture began at SRM University-AP, Amaravati.
Addressing the distinguished gathering was Prof. D. D. Sarma, Honorary Professor and CSIR Bhatnagar Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science, India. His keynote, “In Search of 1-Dimensional Systems, Hosting Quantum Spin Liquids,” drew deep engagement from physicists and materials researchers alike.
As questions flowed and conversations intensified, the atmosphere reflected the very spirit of ICMG-IV — rigorous science, bold exploration, and global collaboration. Day 01 unfolded as a landmark convergence of ideas shaping the future of materials physics.
