The Chargers should do right by Khalil Mack, just like Ryan Poles has done for his players.
Nearly every major trade during Poles’ tenure has sent players to better situations:
• Justin Fields → Passed on a better offer to give him a chance to start for the playoff-contending Steelers.
• Khalil Mack → Playoff-contending Chargers in LA
• Roquan Smith → Super Bowl-caliber Ravens
• Robert Quinn → 14-3 Eagles
• Chase Claypool → 11-6 playoff Dolphins
• DJ Moore → AFC powerhouse Bills
• Gervon Dexter —> loaded Falcons squad
At 0-6, the Chargers should be looking to get draft capital back while giving Mack another shot at a ring.
That’s what separates Poles. He doesn’t just make moves that benefit the Bears. He looks out for the players who wore the jersey, too.

Detroit …. 👀
My favorite play from Caleb last night. Steps up with pressure and absolutely rifles one to Luther.
LB3 belongs in the best hands in the NFL conversation.
Caleb Williams’ NFL Rankings, per (@statyx):

• 2nd in completion % (71.0%)
• 3rd in EPA/dropback (+0.348)

Chicago’s Top 3 Highest Paid Defensive Players:
1. Jaylon Johnson - $24,502,380
2. Montez Sweat - $22,766,472
3. Grady Jarrett - $18,925,000
46% of the total defensive salary cap. Lol.
Luther Burden III should have a BIG game against New England:
• NE ranks 30th defending the short-middle field, allowing 8.7 yards per target
• 44.4% target rate per route in Week 6, up from 18.4% in Week 5
• 65% of Burden’s Week 6 snaps came from the slot
Burden’s role is growing and the Patriots have a weakness exactly where he likes to operate.
Don’t be surprised if Caleb Williams looks his way early and often.

You’ll never guess what happens at the end..
Kyler Gordon’s first career INT came against the Patriots.
Drake Maye ranks 2nd in the NFL in interceptions thrown.
👀
Christian Gonzalez is a top 10 CB in the NFL, but there’s a big drop off behind him in New England’s secondary.
In catches allowed, the Patriots’ CB2 position ranks 29th out of 32 teams (@statyxio).
With Carlton Davis dealing with an injury, Chicago’s WR room should have a mismatch all night.
Burden gives Caleb a real touchdown threat Thursday. He leads Chicago’s wideouts with 43 targets and 361 yards through Week 6.
His nine red-zone targets are more than Odunze and Raymond combined. That connection could be a big part of another multi-TD night for Caleb.
A nugget for Thursday night’s Bears-Patriots matchup:
Caleb Williams’ passing TD line is set at 1.5. He’s hit 80% over in the last 10 games.
The Patriots’ pass defense ranks 21st in both pass success rate and CPOE allowed.
Caleb Williams ranks 1st in the NFL in CPOE.

The Bears should kick the tires on Quenton Nelson if the Colts have a fire sale.
Joe Thuney was traded for a 4th round pick.
Imagine:
LT: Joe Thuney
LG: Quenton Nelson
RG: Jonah Jackson
RT: Darnell Wright
Nelson is still only 30 and could eventually replace Thuney. This also gives Ozzy Trapilo more time to develop.
Don’t forget. The Bears also drafted the best Center in all of college football last year!
