The idea DC should retrocede into Maryland is genuinely so stupid. You should be embarrassed for believing it. The two have been distinct political entities for nearly 250 years. Neither DC *or* Maryland wants it. It would be like making Puerto Rico a state by adding it to FL.

Most modern billionaires are just so tacky. Go endow a library. Fund research and get your name on a cancer center. Sponsor an eccentric polymath who’s obsessed with marble. Build a museum. Fund public parks. Back climate research. Create something that outlives your ego.

My big takeaway from 2026: Both Democrats and Republicans need to ditch the idea that swing voters are white suburban soccer moms or dudes in diners. It's Latina moms in Philly trying to save for their kid's college fund. It's construction workers in Laredo. via @MSNOWNews

I think Hyde-Smith's refusal to concede at this point has much more to do with the specific humiliation of Republicans losing a Senate seat in Mississippi to a black Democrat than it does to her belief she might pull off a come from behind victory.

#BREAKING: Democratic Gov.-elect Keisha Lance Bottoms said Friday she’d work to repeal Georgia’s abortion restrictions, a move that is in line with promises she made on the campaign trail to restore previous standards before the repeal of Roe v. Wade.

Just a great @American_Bridge cycle. For me, I took over our House program for the last 5 months in addition to Senate duties, and I could not be prouder of my researchers (who mostly are smart enough not to be on this hell app). They landed big hits in every contested Senate race & got tons in the House across the country. This is addition to having the best tracking + media monitoring teams, which changed the course of some big races.
With Dems all but certain to prevail in Mississippi and Alaska, we're most likely looking at a 56D-44R Senate and a ~260D-175R House, which would be Dems' largest House majority since 1992.

Earlier this year, I questioned CVS Health CEO Joyner about his company’s monopoly. After months of pressure, CVS decided to dump one part of their monopoly to get ahead of Congress reining them in. We won’t be fooled. Next year, we’re breaking them up.
FT Exclusive: CVS Health is plotting a break-up of its $117bn healthcare empire, separating its retail pharmacy chain from its insurance business in what would be one of the largest corporate splits of all time. ft.trib.al/ZlfmGt9

Congratulations to Nithya Raman on winning LA’s mayoral race. She has said, “Yes, I’m a YIMBY,” and ran on a plan to build more housing. Her win in California’s largest city is a big moment for the pro-housing movement.
Los Angeles, I am deeply honored to be your next mayor. I just spoke with Mayor Bass and expressed my deepest gratitude for her leadership and decades of service. Los Angeles would not be the city it is today without her. I love this city. I believe in its people. The work ahead will be hard, and change will take time. And together, we are going to build a future as extraordinary as the city we call home. Thank you, LA. Let’s get to work.

I told our county parties this year, “I’m not asking you to change the world, I’m asking you to change your backyard. because when we change the state of this state, we change the state of this country.” I didn’t do this. The people of this state and of this party did. ✊

Senate Republicans are staring into the abyss and a potential longer-term minority if Dems win Alaska and Mississippi. Thats 56 seats going into 2028, which is a fairly even map. Dems will compete in NC, Wisconsin, Iowa and maybe SC, Kansas, Alaska while Rs would have to run the table in Arizona, Georgia, NH, Pa., Ohio, Nevada. Senate Dems currently have winning streaks in Arizona, Georgia, New Hampshire and Nevada Depending on Mississippi and Alaska, the fight for a filibuster-proof majority for Dems is just as plausible as Republicans flipping 6+ seats semafor.com/article/11/05/20…

If Mississippi goes down, that will give Dems 56 Senate seats.
