What do y’all wash your MacBook with? Water or soap? Or both?

A truly organized computer must have appropriately named files. Daemos can intelligently rename files. You pick how files get renamed, and get to choose from a multitude of formats. Renaming is optional and off by default. (any files manually namesd by you stay untouched).

I've mentioned that you can organize your messy folders using Daemos. But here's the thing. Daemos isn't only for messy Downloads folders. If your Mac is already organized, it helps you keep it that way with much lesser effort. You built the system, Daemos maintains it.

Sorting files intelligently should take multiple factors into account. Daemos also notices where a file came from, while trying to youdnerstand the file and sending it to the right fdler, instead of letting it sit in your downloads.

Daemos is a file organizer (and more) that can run in the background as you work, and as you download things. The moment a file lands anywhere it's watching, it's already reading it and routing it to its correct destination, seconds later.

Got a messy downloads or desktop folder? Daemos can fix that, and more. As a complete directory manegement engine, it puts those fiels where they actually belong on your syste, and organizes the entire file system, instead of letting it turn into a junk drawer

Say Daemos gets something wrong, a batch of invoices lands in the wrong spot. You correct it and it fixes every file that matches right then, and it remembers that correction forever. It gets better over time.

If Daemos isn't confident where a file belongs, it doesn't move it. It leaves the file exactly where it is and shows you its best estimates so you can decide. It would rather ask a question than make a mess. This is the Review Queue feature.

Daemos gets better over time. Every file it organizes helps it learn. Based on your folder structure and your directions, it understands where things go, and it gets better for you specifically. Every time you correct or teach it, it learns for next time. It gets personalized.

Open a Mac that Daemos has been running on and your code projects look untouched. Git repos, node_modules, Xcode projects, all exactly where you left them. Daemos can tell the difference between a messy folder and a working project, and it leaves working projects alone.

Every move or rename that Daemos makes gets logged the second it happens. You can undo a single file, everything from a sweep session, or everything from this morning, at any point of time. Every level of undo sits there, in case you ever need it.

Daemos cannot delete a file. Not "won't", cannot. The delete and trash functions are marked unavailable directly in the code. If anything in the app ever tried to call them, the app itself wouldn't compile or build. Deletion isn't a setting, it's not possible.

Daemos runs the whole thing on your mac. No cloud, no upload step. The AI model that understands your files is on your machine and never sends anything outside. Your finances, half-finished thesis, and any other files always stay on your laptop, they never leave it. 100% private.

Spent today working on how Daemos handles file renaming - making sure the user can choose how files are renamed, and that files the user renames are not tampered with.

Daemos watches your folders and reads what's actually inside each file: not just the filename, the content. It then routes it to the right folder automatically. No rules to write, nothing is ever deleted, and every single move is undoable.

In May I realised the file organiser I wanted didn't exist. So I've spent the last two months building it. First post about this — a lot more coming.
