Uganda has one core weakness. We are strongly and fundamentally divided in our union. And that is why causes can not win. #Just_Saying.

How much taxpayer money has been diverted to this white elephant of a DEI Pharma Properties? Who are the ultimate beneficiaries, and who should be held accountable? What are the first, second, and third-degree impacts on taxpayers? Which politicians, especially parliamentarians, strongly advocated for its financing and refinancing? Can we assess their lifestyles to determine whether they benefited financially from solicitation or other means? Will justice be served, and will the swindled funds be recovered for the treasury?

Welcome to the best part of life, @andrewkabuura - the 4th floor Here is some quick advice. Call it your 10 point program for the 4th Floor. 1. The body is getting worn out. You’re going to want to lead a healthy life. Take those afternoon naps, eat those vegetables & drink lots of water. 2. You can no longer party two nights in a row. Everytime you hang out past midnight, cancel your programs for the next 24 hours for recovery. 3. Some of your nieces & nephews will refer to you as ‘old’. Wear it like a badge of honour - you’ve earned it. 4. Start planning for your NSSF mid-term benefits because anytime you’ll be able to access it. It’s almost time. 5. You’re going to find more peace in boring & mundane activities like chilling with kids, staying home, shopping for onions, waiting for avocado to ripen & following news stories on TV. 6. You’ll now find more joy attending “grown people” events like the #4thFloor happening on 5th December at @Taleslounge_kla Infact, get your tickets here NOW! qkt.io/4thFloorExprnce 7. It is now perfectly okay to leave any event, gathering, meeting or get-together by saying “My back is hurting, I need to go lay down.” 8. Twenty & Thirty year old men will now look up to you for guidance, inspiration & motivation. Support, teach, mentor & train young men to be hardworking & responsible. 9. Brace yourself for a life of being in the minority because statistically speaking, if you’re in a room of 5 Ugandan men, you’re the oldest or 2nd oldest. 10. You’ve reached the golden age of 40 having ticked most of the boxes every man wants to tick in this life. Smile & celebrate because you’re a lucky man.
40yrs old today. The Lord has been great. #4thFLoor

Amen to this!!! And when we are able to transform potential into productivity, the cost of doing so is alarmingly high. When you drill down to establish what exactly drives the cost of transformation so high, you will find bribery and solicitation as a major component, mostly in Uganda when it comes to export-ready by-products.
AFRICA is not poor in resources, talent or opportunity. Our greatest challenge is transforming potential into productivity. We must industrialise, add value to our resources, empower entrepreneurs, develop practical skills and expand intra African trade. Political independence was the beginning; economic independence must be our enduring legacy….we must transform our continent into a prosperous one… #Panafricanism #AU

The MTN UG Momo Card is a very profitable business for the company, especially among unsuspecting subscribers who don’t pay close attention to their expenses. @DenisDukeUG, the MTN UG e-Mastercard is not a suitable product for any customer who signs up to use it. Understandably, the total cost incurred during a transaction includes the following: 1. Mastercard annual fees 2. Third-party API fees charged to the client per transaction. 3. MTN UG FX fees for making the product available on your MM wallet profile. The worst!!!🙆‍♂️ 4. MTN UG card application fees. Banks don’t need a third-party API, so that cost is eliminated. Their card fees aren’t high because debit cards aren’t their primary product; their focus is credit, actual loans and credit cards. Debit cards help keep customers out of banking halls and reduce the likelihood that they’ll switch banks because their funds are accessible in near-real time. For MTN and other service providers that issue Visa or Mastercard cards, this has become one of their core revenue sources. Anti chaps working in this space for MTN UG are given monthly and quarterly revenue targets. So someone thought of integrating card transactions (which is good) but didn’t bother to check whether the fees were predatory toward users. The good thing is that users can choose whether to keep using the MTN-Mastercard for e-commerce transactions kubanga they are so expensive!! Card issuers across traditional financial institutions offer a much better product-to-cost service to the market, any day.
Never paid attention until today. So @mtnug Uganda just charged me a whopping 54959 in fees for using their Momo card to pay for an online service 😳😳😳😳😳😂😂😂😂🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻 You people, is it because the economy is tough that’s why we are being squeezed everywhere? Oba I’m over reacting? Looks like it’s time for me to go back to the banks. 🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️ While their Momo card offers conveniency, the cost is way too high for a small business owner. I make about 5 to 6 of these transactions every month and it’s only today that I’ve paid attention. Woow. Just Woow.

The planting of evidence is becoming commonplace. What is our country coming to? As citizens and nationals of Uganda, our last frontier for sanity is now the Judiciary, provided it remains impartial and upholds the fairness of the law. If the state entraps its citizens, and perhaps colludes with external parties to subdue Ugandans, we have reached a point where anything can happen. This is a total regression! The country’s lack of involvement in quelling the Somali conflict has apparently triggered an implosion within Uganda. Many nationals are worried for their safety against the same organs that are meant to protect them from external and internal insurgencies. We call on officials across the different arms of government to stop these acts and focus on protecting Ugandans with a strong sense of respect and self-respect.
Guns were planted in Elwelu’s home – wife Patricia Apolot, the wife of retired Lt Gen Peter Elwelu, has denied claims by security authorities that guns and ammunition were recovered from their home in Soroti during a security operation, alleging instead that soldiers planted the weapons. “It was about 7:30 pm when a fleet of cars arrived at our home. When they came in, they were polite at first, but as the conversation went on, they didn’t get what they wanted. Because they asked to speak to Afande, I told them it had been over two weeks since he went for prayers and had not yet returned, and I had not heard from him, because normally, when he goes for prayers, he wants to be isolated. They said I was joking,” Apolot narrated.  She said the operatives questioned why her husband had remained silent, arguing that he was a government official and should therefore not be keeping quiet. “I was like, since when has silence become a problem in this country? Someone being silent, does it mean he is doing something bad?” she said. Apolot said the security personnel subsequently accused her of being coached by her husband and questioned some young men at the home about their relationship with him. She added that other soldiers searched the compound, looking for evidence that could implicate Elwelu. observer.ug/news/guns-were-p…

Balaam, the Hon. Minister of Local Government, does not appear to have read Mr Echodu’s post in its entirety and understood the spirit with which it was written before responding. His reaction seemed to suggest that he alone could determine how someone ought to express themselves. I believe that the rallies and frequent trips across the country may have led him to feel that his words always flow from a fountain of wisdom, a source he seems to believe only he can access. I guess, the next time, he will be more patient and read a post, ruminate and, if necessary, make a remark or respond to it. We all learn daily.
Hallo Balaam @BalaamBarugahar , it’s me again, Dr Omona. I read your response to Hon Calvin @EchoduOfficial , Mp and @NRMOnline Vice C/man for Eastern, member of the @NRMOnline CEC . According to you , Hon Echodu , an elected leader of the people , was tribal , unpatriotic, not statesman enough and immature , to respond to the happenings in his constituency and region, huh ! May be , Balaam, you may wish to advise , who has a right to speak in Uganda and speak for the people and for themselves and how to speak. I come from the Greater #Kaberamaido, where Lt Gen ELWELU also comes from ( Anyara , Kalaki ). The people in that place got terrified by the ongoing in the National news , aware of their traumatic past , wanted assurance from their leaders about their community. What then would us , their children and leaders tell them. Did we need to seek permission from you to calm down our people so they can settle to till their land without fear ? It’s planting and exam season in this our place right now. Why do you want to smear such a foul lebel as tribalism on a leader who is just calling for calm and giving assurance to his people ? The last time I checked your were a great promoter of tribal chauvinism, have you finally come to our side ?😅😅😅😅😅. I hope we haven’t abandoned our mass line ideology that shaped many of us. WHAT IS PATRIOTISM WITHOUT THE PEOPLE, Bure ! We of the region , are more interested in National security more than you may be even , we bear very many scars of insurgencies and we don’t desire any more . That’s why we find Hon Echodu’s statement neutral , mature , Patriotic and civil and peaceful and re assuring- that’s leadership and therefore don’t need your permission from you , atleast not in our villages to speak for them. We have a duty to do so. This is the beauty of the NRM that we still believe in and this is what our leader Mzee @KagutaMuseveni has taught us. So ma bro Balamu, no one has the monopoly of opinion OR even wisdom and to speak , it’s what we fought for , you remember? Hii ni sirikali ya wananchi. Finally, let me summarize for you what Hon Echodu called for : calm in the region, speedy and transparent inquiry into the Gen ELWELU alleged subversive activities and caution against inflammatory statements. Are these unwise according to you ! Greetings from Kaberamaido city. Cheers.

My dear friend @EchoduOfficial and Hon @NRMOnline Central Committee member, I wish to respectfully appeal that we approach this matter with the highest level of objectivity, wisdom and statesmanship, and avoid viewing it through political, tribal or regional lenses. Matters touching on national security are particularly sensitive and deserve sober reflection, restraint and careful consideration. I believe it would be in the best interests of our country to allow an impartial and independent investigation to establish the facts before conclusions are drawn or positions taken. We should also recognise the experience and institutional responsibility of our Commander-in-Chief @KagutaMuseveni and Chief of Defence Forces General @mkainerugaba , who have considerable experience in assessing intelligence and weighing its implications before decisions are made. Equally important, their compassion, understanding and commitment to the wellbeing of our nation should not be overlooked. As leaders entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding our country’s unity and stability, let us demonstrate maturity, mutual respect and confidence in the appropriate processes. Above all, let national interest prevail over personal, political, tribal or regional considerations. I make this appeal in the spirit of friendship, patriotism and our shared commitment to the peace, unity and stability of our beloved country.
