Excellent decision and a welcomed shift. The biggest obstacle to economic growth is energy. This will create jobs and increase government receipts. We need more policy making that ‘shifts the needle’. #jackdaw

My Dad was admitted to hospital yesterday.Unfortunately he has been sat in a recliner chair overnight. Another elderly lady who can barely sit upright has also been placed in a chair. The staff are working hard and exhausted. We must find solutions #NHS

We’ve found staff across 9 London Borough councils have been under investigation for housing corruption.
One staff member was fired for trying to allocate themselves a council property.
Some people who've been stuck for years on housing waiting lists are paying council workers in a frantic bid to speed up their long wait for a home.

The UK gilt market’s high beta is on display again today as 10-year yields surge to nearly 5.40% amid this global sell-off—and this in the run-up to the government delivering its first, highly anticipated budget on October 28.
For the reasons detailed in my April Financial Times column on "who lost the UK bond market" (link below), this structural vulnerability has been building for years and now has self-feeding dynamics: sluggish productivity colliding with expanding deficits and the refinancing of debt last incurred at lower borrowing costs, making both economic growth and fiscal sustainability even harder to achieve.

There are some people who are a bit resentful they have to give their parents money still … the resentment of the next generation will be parents that ignored individual stocks and crypto but just did S&P500? Or worse parents that dodnt even do that! Kids will know their classmates all have isas and investments meanwhile their money for multiple damily holiday parent was too ignorant to put a little time aside to learn.
How can you teach your children individual stocks or crypto if you yourself have not bothered to learn and gain credible experience in it? Don’t make excuses your future kids will hold you accountable and have resentment you heard it here first. Im 15 years when blockchain is mainstream they will ask you were you were Q4 2026…Saying “Crypto was risky” will not suffice as they will see the things you were spending money on.
Financial and investing literacy should start at home! Teaching kids about loney is no longer enough you need to teach them about debt, investing and eventually crypto, individual stocks and angel investing. Yes I said it. Living below your means, saving, budgeting and spending is no longer enough.
