We’ve found staff across 9 London Borough councils have been under investigation for housing corruption. One staff member was fired for trying to allocate themselves a council property.
Some people who've been stuck for years on housing waiting lists are paying council workers in a frantic bid to speed up their long wait for a home. Housing campaigner @Kwajotweneboa speaks to @sophyridgesky and @wilfredfrost about the corruption.

There are some people who are a bit resentful they have to give their parents money still … the resentment of the next generation will be parents that ignored individual stocks and crypto but just did S&P500? Or worse parents that dodnt even do that! Kids will know their classmates all have isas and investments meanwhile their money for multiple damily holiday parent was too ignorant to put a little time aside to learn. How can you teach your children individual stocks or crypto if you yourself have not bothered to learn and gain credible experience in it? Don’t make excuses your future kids will hold you accountable and have resentment you heard it here first. Im 15 years when blockchain is mainstream they will ask you were you were Q4 2026…Saying “Crypto was risky” will not suffice as they will see the things you were spending money on. Financial and investing literacy should start at home! Teaching kids about loney is no longer enough you need to teach them about debt, investing and eventually crypto, individual stocks and angel investing. Yes I said it. Living below your means, saving, budgeting and spending is no longer enough. Happy Friday. Lock in linktr.ee/stockpickers

Thank you to @andyburnham for excluding those convicted of Dangerous Driving from early release. On behalf of my constituents Claire, Samia & Debbie who have lost daughters and parents thank you for listening.
'What I did in listening to PC Harper's family and victims all over the country.. is basically spent the summer turning over every single stone In an exclusive interview with #BBCBreakfast Prime Minister Andy Burnham said two of the killers of PC Andrew Harper will not benefit from the early release scheme from prison - as well as anyone convicted of all forms of manslaughter, death by dangerous driving and causing or allowing the death of a child bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crr4…

Not just a nonsense policy that would put the lives of both citizens and police officers at risk - but pretty tasteless for this to be briefed out on a weekend when two of our police officers lost their lives in the line of duty. Just not a serious party ready for government.
🚨 NEW: The Green Party has drafted a policy proposal to remove tasers and pepper spray from police officers [@thetimes]

1/ With Cllr Melanie Felten, I’m calling on Croydon Council for an update on the safety improvements promised for the South Norwood Hill/Whitehorse Lane crossing. Residents raised serious concerns, and the council committed to act. We now need a clear timeline for delivery. – at Croydon, London

Not many people will live for many years above the pension age. Unless you see your pension as inheritance to pass on please please focus on stocks isa and only use SIPPs when consolidating past pensions and reducing tax liability. I’d say get clued up about EIS / SEIS startups investing and use that instead of SIPP if you’re an entrepreneur or caught in the 100k tax bracket thing

The UK works because it’s stable, globally connected, culturally diverse, and offers high quality public services that many countries simply don’t match. croydonlabourgroup.co.uk/202… It’s disappointing that Croydon’s Conservative Mayor is putting vital external investment into our streets at risk by playing political games. @CroydonLabour will continue to hold the Mayor to account & work to secure this funding for improving our streets

I’m not going to amplify Reform’s ad by sharing it, but the wilful misrepresentation of Kemi Badenoch - selectively quoting what she said about ‘white lives matter’ - is disgraceful and dangerous. It needs to be challenged, including by those of us who are not Conservatives.

99% of social media is a mirage Algorithms show the peak of human desire. The hyper-rare 1% lifestyle we’re tricked into thinking is normal, creating delusion that sets us up to fail Don’t compare your life to the 99% of liars & the wealthy 1% who are often empty & unhappy.

A massive amount of sacrifice is required in the early years of a startup - 3 to 5+ years of pure obsession, no plan B. You have to forget everything else and be willing to die for it. But there’s a lot of hot air online about what hard work actually looks like. Sitting on a laptop for 24 hours isn’t hard work. Real hard work is learning fast, making smart decisions, setting a clear vision, attracting great talent, and relentlessly prioritizing what matters. That’s the founder’s job.

£94,674 vs £66,010 take home from £100K earnings. Same income, completely different outcome. One plays the system, the other gets trapped by it. This is the PAYE trap—and here’s how to escape it 🧵👇
