Halloween weekend is upon us. As is typical, temps will be near 80° Halloween evening with one or two spot showers. The weekend in general will be breezy and humid, with a solid chance of rain on Sunday. Typically November is our least rainy month of the year, but with the Super El Niño pattern set up, we need to throw climatology out the window. If you look at the next 7 days, forecasted rainfall amounts around the state, some may get more rain than the entire month of November on average. This is what El Niño brings, lots of clouds and well above normal rainfall chances and totals.
One or two stray showers on tap for later today, (20%) but rain chances look to go up for the second half of the weekend. Models are still all over the place as to when we get the rain, but to be honest parts of Central Florida are still dealing with a severe drought. With the strong El Niño pattern in place through the winter, we will no doubt make this up and then some over the next few months.
One last day of very windy conditions and a small craft advisory. Slowly as the weather pattern breaks down, the winds will subside. Good news is it looks like we have a solid rain chance moving through the second half of the weekend. Rain chances bump to at least 50% for Sunday afternoon, and high temps this weekend will be in the mid 80's.
Another windy day is headed our way, with winds gusts along the west coast over 30 mph. A small craft advisory continues along the coastal waters until Wednesday evening as well. Other than a stray shower (10-20%), clouds and sun will dominate through the weekend. The outlook for Halloween looks to be warm and a bit humid.
Our windy weather continues for the next several days, as well as the Small Craft Advisory. Persistent NE winds will try to carry a few showers across the state, but overall rain chances along the west coast will be in the 10-20% range. By Halloween, the humidity will return a bit, but not overbearing. We also turn our clocks back this weekend, so enjoy the extra hour of sleep. The tropics look to stay quiet for the next 7 days as well.
It is a hold onto your hat windy kind of weekend in Central Florida. In fact, a Small Craft Advisory has been issued for the coastal waters from Friday PM, until Wednesday PM. That is a long stretch of very windy weather. A combination of high pressure to the north, and a mid/upper level low east of the Bahamas will create this windy pattern for days. The persistent NE wind will bring moisture and showers along the east coast of Fl. As those showers move west and encounter dry air many will dissipate, but don't be surprised if you see a fast moving quick shower. Rain chances are only around 10-20%. High temps will be in the low to mid 80's, with lows in the low to mid 60's.
