.@Uber is targeting 700 robotaxis on its platform by year-end. More than 500 of those robotaxis are @Waymo today and they are going away in the future.
This week on Autonomy Markets, @gbrulte and @WaltLightShed analyze Uber's fleet targets, @Tesla's shift from Cybertruck to Cybercab, and the race to scale autonomy globally.

Here is Orlando.
Just about 70% coverage of the land area and is pretty close to the population as well.
Tampa may be delayed, but well see, hopefully tomrrow.

Here is Miami!
The accuracy of each city has been getting better. Waymo is very soon.
61% of the Land Area, 67% of the population. Railroads seem to be a major contributor to the middle section and most of the residents.

Waymo's Orlando depot is over 130,000 square feet, the size of a @Costco, with hundreds of vehicles and no permanent charging infrastructure in sight.
@gbrulte spent more than four and a half hours riding the entire new @Waymo Orlando service area in a mixed fleet of Ojai and Jaguar I-PACE vehicles, from a rooftop drop-off at @UniversalORL to the curb at @SeaWorld.
But two things are still missing, @MCO Airport and @WaltDisneyWorld. Which comes first for Waymo in Orlando, the airport or Disney World?
This is the Field Report.

This was the only strange behavior we observed with the Ojai during our ride
On the return trip, parking wasn’t the greatest as you can see by the parking lines, however the main issue was the doors got stuck on the driver side.
They did not close automatically. It stayed like this for roughly 3-4 min then it resolved itself and drove off
Luckily we were in an empty parking lot, however had this happened on a busy street or parking lot, it would have caused a serious traffic jam. Definitely an issue for @Waymo to look into

Met up with the one and only @DavidMoss last night to take my first ride in the @Waymo Ojai!
It was a really great experience, very pleased with how the Ojai drives. Drop off and pick up was great, the ride is smooth and it has an insane amount of leg room!
The trunk is a little smaller than I thought it would be which is something to consider if you’re traveling with large suitcases

Here is the true Pickup/Dropoff Geofence for Dallas.
It's a really good geofence. There are some holes, but most don't really matter.
The geofence covers ~89% of residents while only covering 78% of land mass.

If my Tesla parks in a parking spot, and it’s on the line, I expect it to pull out and repark so it’s in the lines.
Otherwise I have to do that myself manually!

Austin's dropoff/pickup Geofence is ~41% smaller than advertised.
Seems mostly the East side of town is inaccessible. Unsure the cause. Any ideas?
Dallas is next and should be done by noon tomrrow.

.@ionnaofficial is insanely impressive (and @alpitronic and others - I know it's all hands on deck)
ionna.com/blog/an-update/
IONNA has seen a number of CCS charging station handles, localized particularly in the Midwest, with a bent ground pin.
This could cause subsequent damage to vehicles that would plug in after the affected car / adapter damaged the CCS connector.
What they are doing to stop this spreading is really interesting:
Daily health checks from an IONNA Employee in IN, IL, OH, MO
Complete network / country wide connector physical health check at every site nearly complete just after a few days 😮
They have ordered every adapter available on the market to test and retest to make sure it’s not a problem that could be linked to a new part
What you should do:
- Inspect every connector / inlet before plugging into CCS. This could spread to all networks / stations if not caught in time
- If you find a bent pin please tell me, @tommolog or @ionnaofficial and we will disable that connector and it’ll be replaced ASAP
Right now this is impacting an incredibly small number of users but to squash the problem we’ve got to get ahead of the spread. Thanks!

A few days before I met @DavidMoss off-roading, @ogre_codes vouched for him "David's cool." (Dennis isn't known for being super chatty, but his assessments are trustworthy).
On this same trip, I also was introduced to @dillont, @spyderms, @TesLatina and @TesLatino. And further got to know @ohjimme and @mrkylefield.
Driving on super sketchy trails, then chillin and chowing around the campfire, really bonds the group - I would ride with any of these folks any day, anywhere.
Y'all should follow all the above people, They're cool.

Spent the last few hours finding the real geofence for Fort Worth and here is the true coverage map.
About 72% coverage, but that isn’t the full story.

Tesla Robotaxi is launching in Fort Worth, a 143 sq mi area about 20 miles west of its 81 sq mi Dallas zone. That’s 224 sq mi across DFW

Registrations are not rides. @Tesla's Texas robotaxi fleet crossed 1,000 vehicles, but the metric that matters is paid commercial unsupervised miles, with deadhead miles reported separately.
In off-road autonomy, @BedrockRobotics raised $600 million to retrofit excavators, and a @Purdue lab built a drone that tracks a person through a forest without GPS.
These are the signals this week on Autonomy Signals with @gbrulte and @RobGsix presented by @KPMG.
