Dokkan Episode 40
I still see why this ep is one of the most beloved it rocks. Has perhaps the most unique tone in the show and it questions Doremi's character and desires through Mirai in a way I adore. And sets up what the final episodes will do brilliantly.

🔥 The Greatest Metal Songs 🔥
🔴 Position 4️⃣7️⃣
💎 Slayer - South of Heaven
📀 South of Heaven
🌎 USA 🇺🇸 - 1988
➡️ The undisputed soundtrack to a creeping apocalypse.
🔝 Coming off the hyper-speed sonic assault of Reign in Blood, nobody expected Slayer to open their next record with a slow, ominous riff; and that’s precisely why "South of Heaven" is one of the most brilliant tracks in metal history.
🎼 Instead of trying to outrun their past, they slowed the tempo down to a dark, menacing crawl, creating a suffocating atmosphere that hits just as hard as any 250-BPM thrash anthem.
That opening guitar sequence from Hanneman and King is pure sinister poetry.
🥁 It creeps in like fog over a graveyard before Lombardo’s thunderous drums drop in and flatten everything in sight. Tom Araya’s vocal delivery here is absolute gold; he ditches the frantic shouting for a grim, haunting chant that feels like a front-row seat to world destruction.
📜 Lyrically, it paints an eerie, hopeless vision of humanity’s downfall that fits the oppressive music like a glove.
When the track finally shifts gears near the end into that furious, stomping groove, it feels like an avalanche coming down.
✅ It’s a masterclass in tension and release, proving that true heaviness isn't just about breakneck speed, but about pitch-black vibe, menace, and undeniable groove.
