You don't have to worry about getting a little crazy later in life if you are already there! 🤪🤪🤪
The girls at the piercing shop had a lot of fun poking grandpas ears! I am so glad I took a risk here. 😀
My pains are increasing. Kathy walks me like grandpa when we go out. I need her hand to steady me. Its hard some days, but Im ready for whatever comes.
This lady has a son with an uncurable invisible disease. Sometimes what you see is not all there is to see. She looks happy, her son looks beautiful and happy. But its a private struggle and worry. Be kind always!

I fed my mom her final meal two years ago. She passed quietly in her sleep and we talked for hours that day. RIP my sweet mom.

❤️ From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to everyone who has helped make Braelyn’s trip to London for her 5th DCvax injection possible!
My hope is that @NorthwestBio, ($NWBO) a small but MIGHTY American biotech company whose treatment we believe has helped save Braelyn’s life, will finally receive the attention it deserves from American regulators and policymakers. 🇺🇸
And on a lighter note… Braelyn is absolutely THRILLED to have received her official Starbucks Reserve Status membership card in the mail TODAY! 😂☕️ Those daily matchas are one well-deserved splurge for this GBM warrior!
Thank you, @Starbucks, for bringing her so much joy, and thank you to EVERYONE who continues to love, pray for, and support our girl.
We are so incredibly grateful! ❤️🙏

19-year-old @HollensbeBrae and her mom, @HollensbeAmanda, spent about six weeks in London this summer so Braelyn could receive DCVax, a promising nontoxic glioblastoma treatment from @NorthwestBio, a small American biotech.
They have a big thank you to all of you as they head overseas yet again for the next treatment.
When Braelyn was diagnosed at 16, she was given one to three months to live.
After her latest surgery, proton radiation, and three doses of DCVax, her latest MRI shows “No Evidence of Disease.”
Despite decades of promising results and long-term survivors, Braelyn still can’t get this treatment in the U.S.
When will the FDA and politicians let an American patient receive this American-developed treatment at home?

Could a single immunotherapy drug help some patients with rectal cancer avoid chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery?
On October 19, 2026, the FDA granted accelerated approval to dostarlimab (Jemperli) for adults with stage II or III locally advanced rectal cancer whose tumors are mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) or microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H).
I consider this one of the most important recent developments in precision oncology.
Why?
Because the goal of cancer treatment is not simply to eliminate a tumor.
It is also to preserve the patient's quality of life whenever possible.
Traditional treatment for locally advanced rectal cancer can involve chemotherapy, radiation, and major surgery.
For some patients, this may mean permanent changes in bowel function, urinary function, sexual health, or fertility.
Some may require a permanent colostomy.
Now, for a carefully selected group of patients, immunotherapy may offer a different path.
Dostarlimab is a PD-1 immune checkpoint inhibitor.
Instead of directly killing rapidly dividing cells like conventional chemotherapy, it helps restore the immune system's ability to recognize and attack cancer.
But here is the most important scientific distinction.
This treatment is NOT appropriate for every patient with rectal cancer.
Eligibility depends on tumor biology, specifically dMMR or MSI-H status.
This is why molecular testing at diagnosis is increasingly important.
And while the early clinical results are extraordinary, accelerated approval does not mean every patient will achieve a durable complete response or safely avoid surgery.
Careful response assessment, multidisciplinary management, and long-term surveillance remain essential.
My message to patients and families:
If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with rectal cancer, ask your oncology team:
1. Has my tumor been tested for mismatch repair deficiency or microsatellite instability?
2. Am I a candidate for immunotherapy?
3. Could treatment potentially preserve my rectum?
4. What monitoring and follow-up would be required?
The future of oncology is not necessarily more chemotherapy.
It is increasingly about identifying the right treatment for the right tumor, while preserving as much of the patient's life and function as possible.
We are entering an era when the molecular characteristics of a tumor may matter as much as the organ where the cancer began.
What excites you most about this development: the possibility of organ preservation, the precision of biomarker-directed treatment, or the opportunity to reduce long-term treatment complications?

Why advanced cancer makes the whole body fail.
This is how Dr. Zhang sees advanced cancer, in plain words. It is the idea behind his research, his book, and the medicines he is working on.

I actually miss the "lemon" I would get from kaiser, that fit in my shirt pocket and made it easier to carry around. This one is a beast.
I got my first earings today at the ripe old age of 62! And we had a great day everywhere we went. I love meeting people!

I hope so Laura. Its my purpose in life. I lived on the streets as a kid and been through so much pain and things like that. I have a really sad part inside me and I feel other peoples pain. I want to hug people. Im getting so much love back its amazing!
Just today, I got a hug from my chemo nurse, a jewelry store who sold this old man his first set of earrings and a cop came up to me at Boston Pizza during lunch just to ask me, what is up with you my dude, you look like you are having fun here.
Everywhere we go as a couple something special registers in other people. I love taking time to know each person and really listen to them. I have time and the heart to love everyone i meet! Im okay with being weird and different. You let me be me!

This matters so much. When appetite fades and weight and strength slip away, it is not just about eating more. Small, frequent meals and support from your care team can help. It is worth asking your doctor about a plan that looks at appetite, strength, and daily life together.

I love this post!
Relationship in a single word is exactly what this is all about.
Religion is great as long as it leads to the point - which is a relationship with the Living God. (Luke 17:21 & John 14:20)
Faith is simply the promise of things not yet seen 👊 Hebrews 11:1 🙏
Day three of chemo where you take a bag home with you like Halloween, only its a nasty trick lol. The bag comes off after three days of dripping into me. I did pretty good this cycle considering where I started on Monday. Hopeful I can tolerate some more of this.
I see the reports and know what happens when they stop treatments. Last time they paused for 8/9 months my tumor doubled in size and spread to other parts. 🎃
