The spectacle of so many on the British right unpatriotically desperate for Starmer to fail and then Starmer spectacularly succeeding is worth bookmarking.

Hiya all - working with a group of long serving men in prison who want to do something on the 'myths and realities of 'institutionalisation'''.. Can anyone recommend a good paper - not too jargon heavy .. or any other recourses they can access?
I don't need to tell people how good this open access journal is -

Wow. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde fearlessly calls out Trump and Vance to their faces. This is heroic.

Read 100 onto the bookshelves on each wing. 1st 25 titles are informed by what the men have liked plus my suggestions. It's a pick and choose list to read at your own pace. Looking forward to what they choose for the next 25.
I was literally shouting this at the radio. Nick's response to prisoners being able to access basic means of hygiene and warmth, highlights the uphill struggle to change public attitudes/ beliefs that grim and austere conditions in prison IS NOT the punishment.
Replying to @Dee0871
Oh got me too. It was a missed opportunity for a much punchier reply. 1. because it’s probably cost effective &more eco conscious.
2. because exposed pipes in old prisons are used for a number of nefarious purposes. &on en suite showers- <violence & more much needed human dignity

It was a pleasure to interview @TheLordFarmer about prisoners' contact with their families, the cost of calls from in-cell phones, and the gender gap in sentencing.

Was really happy to do this pod cast. Touched on some of the concerns on how data is collected on people in prison. The /hopes/ concerns for sharing access to people in prison info- Also the importance of lived experience as well as some of the concerns / limitations ..
📢 Now live: #ConnectingSociety episode 2!
"Justice in the age of data" (ft. @Dee0871 and Amy Summerfield) examines how data collected by @MoJGovUK is being used to drive positive change in the justice system.

Good to see pretty well established folk talk honestly about the struggle of academic writing. One can sometimes trick oneself into thinking other folk bang out paragraphs and pages with ease. Outside of the shop floor, I've always struggled with a fair sense of productivity
