@mybmcWardHW Why is Bandra fort closed? Surely the public needs explanations for why we are being denied access to public spaces?

Hindu Mahasabha wanted Britain to reoccupy India...
They delivered a secret letter asking for the same in 1951, just before the 1952 election.
Declassified records of the British Archives tell us, this story of betrayal.

I am a Member of Parliament with a passport issued by the Union Government but I’m not sure I am an Indian citizen & have no way to prove it. What a mockery of constitutional democracy.

I have a VOTER ID card, but NO, it is not proof of citizenship.
I have a AADHAR card but NO, it is not proof of citizenship
I have a PAN Card, but NO, it is not proof of citizenship.
I have a PASSPORT but NO, it is not proof of citizenship.
So who will give me a CITIZENSHIP CERTIFICATE? A govt bureaucrat?
My question is simple: is the problem with the citizen, or with the Mai Baap State itself?😡

Thanks to my friend @bimal_joy 's book reading today at Ferreira House in Khotachiwadi,Girgaon, I got to see a lovely part of #Mumbai that I had never explored before. #FerreiraHouse is a heritage bungalow now run as a B&B in a sweet little lane which was once dominated by East Indian Christian community. The houses in this urban village are mostly built in Portuguese style.
Actor @DenzilLSmith thoroughly entertained us by reading select passages from Joy's book- Ramblings of a Bandra Boy.The book is an absolute page-turner coz Joy is an excellent raconteur who has been entertaining his FB friends and fans like yours truly for years now. Do pick up a copy on @amazonIN.
Joy has a terrific eye for beauty and has also been taking up select sarees for upscaling over the last few years(usually heritage pieces or heirlooms). Some of his latest creations are on display&sale at the first floor gallery of Ferreira House 😍

The proposed installation of 35 commercial LED boards/ hoardings sanctioned by @mybmc @mybmcWardHW @mahamaritime1 on Carter Road Promenade Bandra West will destroy the very character of this iconic 1.2 km public space built by citizens, for citizens.
Our promenade is not for commercialisation. It is a public, environmental and recreational asset that must be protected.
We continue to oppose this move and stand with residents to safeguard our Carter Road Promenade.
A petition opposing the same started and supported by concerned citizens...

Historic Gem Reborn!
Extremely honoured to have inaugurated the beautifully restored Bandra fort that offers a glimpse into the grandeur of European architecture, in our beloved city. Through consistent follow-up and dedicated monitoring of the works, the restoration is now complete. Excited to open the doors to Mumbaikars, tourists and visitors from across the globe to witness this historic gem that Bandra proudly boasts of.

Great staging of the play “Autobiography” by the PrimeTime Theatre Company as part of the Delhi Theatre Festival. Written by Mahesh Elkunchwar, the play has brilliant performances by Lilette Dubey, Suchitra Pillai, Denzil Smith & Sarah Hashmi. Unmissable.
