A Lagosian who hasn’t seen light for 10 days will trek through smelly streets, dodging like a thousand street thugs, to jump on a bus with wooden seats, & still have the audacity to tell someone living in ABK or Ib that they are living in a village.

When I got laid off from Microsoft, I got into a company in Lagos that felt paying 600k naira a month was doing me a favour. I had to take the offer to keep body and soul together.
Was there for 6 months until I fell out with the MD and started looking out. That was when I started my training outfit but couldn't quite get traction.
Anyway, after leaving this NGO, I spent another 5 months in the wilderness, literally. Ate rejections almost every other day. Was living on the goodwill of friends and relations. Basically wondering what to get out of life.
An Antler rep came knocking at the time and was in the process of fast tracking my application to the Antler cohort at Kenya. Guess what? My passport had expired. Ran to go fast track my passport, after a few days emailed the partner but was told it was too late.
I remember laying in my room laughing hysterically, mulling to myself, "who I offend?"
Thankfully at that time, I applied to Andela and the process started for another 2 months. I got into Andela and my monthly salary was my previous annual salary. This trend continued in a subsequent company. Use am run one or two that year.
But the point is, while I was enjoying this new reality, I asked myself, "why did you worry all those times?" In hindsight, there was no reason to. I should have just chilled for 5 months, enjoyed myself.
But we are human and can only understand life in hindsight. As long as you believe this it will work out for you: EVERYTHING will turn out better than you expected, just stop worrying.

I’m very pro abortion. There’s no argument on earth that will ever make me change my stance on this topic.

this will sound mean but PLEASE get over things faster. You don’t want to waste your good years being angry, bitter, and sad.

Your chances of being able bodied your entire life are slim to none. It is always in your best interest to advocate for a more accessible world fr
It's really unfair what @IkejaElectric is doing to us in Gbagada. They're only giving BandA light. What's separating them from us is just a bridge. Imagine houses not too far from you having consistent power while you've had nothing for the past 3 weeks, all becos you're in BandB

You think a male gynecologist wakes up excited to stare at grandma pussies? It’s just a job. He probably can’t even have sex with his wife later because of the traumatic experience.
Why do we have male gynecologists? some professions should be gender specific.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Male gynaecologists on average receive higher ratings by patients for satisfying care, with between 17-47% lower odds of receiving top patient scores.

Doing “I don’t do politics”, “all politicians are the same” and “nigeria cannot be fixed” behavior in 2026 is such a loser behavior. You are not cool for refusing to participate or create change. You are a coward.
As a young man, it is very important for your character development that you make money and lose everything very early in life.
That period where you’ve had modest financial success and then you’re back to square one will help you understand life better, especially how people who you went over and beyond for start treating you when you’re broke.
It will also help you to live differently when you make money again.
