Nothing says "deflationary" like a burn program and a vesting schedule sharing the same calendar.
Tonight (Oct 12, 02:15 UTC) ~6.88B $PUMP of team vesting unlocks. Call it ~$39M at ~$0.0057.
The famous buyback: 50% of Pump.fun revenue buys PUMP on the open market and burns it. Oct 1–10 it burned ~1.95B PUMP, about 195M a day. Genuinely impressive. Also genuinely a bucket.
Token Autopsy math: this one tranche equals ~35 days of burns. And it comes back monthly into 2029. The burn isn't shrinking supply so much as running in place on a very expensive, very on-chain treadmill.
Fair point for the bulls: unlocked ≠ sold. A week after July's cliff, Pump said ~84.5% of unlocked tokens hadn't left the recipient wallets. Diamond hands are a lovely policy right up until there's a bid.
Fine print: holders get no revenue share, just scarcity. And the 50% burn is a one-year commitment that runs to April 2027.
The burn is locked for one year. Vesting runs to 2029. Which one is the real tokenomics?

The hackers' sell-off has been absorbed by the market, and the outflow of funds from the exchange confirms that underlying demand is protecting the current price range. Consider buying SOL/USDT on a test basis when the price retests the 78.50 – 79.50 USDT range, and take short-term profits at 83.20 USDT if there is a rebound.
