UK Labour and Australian Labor are reaching peak absurdity. There's no rational sense in their decision making.
I guess she’s switched off replies because too many people were asking whether the exams would contain questions about Ukrainians serving with the Nazis in WW2.

The fundamental difference between the British government’s response to Ukraine vs its response to Palestine is just so blatantly hypocritical and racist, I genuinely don’t understand how they dont spontaneously implode from the sheer force of the contradiction.
Proud to announce that students in England will be able to study Ukrainian at GCSE. It’s a chance for pupils to explore Ukraine’s rich culture and history and, for the Ukrainian community to remain connected to their heritage. This is another step in our enduring support for Ukraine as part of the 100 Year Partnership 🇺🇦🇬🇧

The LNP/ON are an amorphous blob of ignorance and racism incapable of governing. Then Labor does this. They've abrogated government responsibilities handing them over to an unelected envoy. Without a reset Australia will be a land of self satisfied performance politics
The captured state continues. Jason Clare and the Labor Party should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this capture. Resistance is the best remedy. What we have to say about it: newpolitics.com.au/p/the-fig…

Zelensky could be lecturer. A native Russian speaker he had to learn Ukrainian as an adult. The ultimate poser he now uses an interpreter when meeting Russians
The UK officially gone crazy. Why the fuck would anyone want to study Ukrainian?

The sheer state of France's political system: the government's budget for 2027 got exactly 0 votes in parliament, not a single one, which has got to be some kind of record. Not even their own MPs voted for it! This is because parliament spent weeks amending the budget into something so incoherently horrendous that in the end no-one wants it. Perfect illustration of the complete political paralysis in the country.
Ce soir, l’incroyable et jamais vu a eu lieu. Le projet de budget du gouvernement a eu 458 voix contre et ….. 0 voix pour. Ça sent le temps perdu et annonce le 49.3 et donc la censure.

Notice the similarities btw Ukraine and Gaza? The link is Israeli Nazism. Commit atrocities, blame the victims and arrest those exposing your crimes. Nazi 101.
The woman who exposed a secret Azov detention facility in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka near Kyiv yesterday — where mobilized men and deserters were reportedly beaten and held against their will — has now been arrested. And right on cue, the entire pro-government media machine and its army of bloggers have sprung into action. Their target? The woman who exposed it. They're working overtime to paint her as a paid Kremlin agent and a provocateur. Meanwhile, the questions that actually matter have conveniently vanished from the headlines. Why were the men held inside that civilian building covered in bruises? Why were they denied medical care? Why did groups of violent thugs, mobilized by Azov, descend on protesters to the sound of the OUN march, attacking people indiscriminately — including journalists? And why hasn't a single one of those attackers been arrested yet? Instead, all the attention is now focused on the woman who brought to light a secret detention site where men's fundamental rights appear to have been violated. How incredibly convenient. This is the "beacon of freedom and democracy" that Brussels is backing and financing.

Jason Clare was so promising. Now just another political drone who cares more about donors, foreign ones at that, than public he is supposed to serve 😡
And on and on it goes. @JasonClareMP keen to prosecute the Segal agenda. "Education Minister announced last Friday that under the draft legislation, the maximum fine for universities will increase from the existing cap of $40,000 to $2 million – a 50-fold increase."

What does Zelensky have on Merz? And on Macron, von der Leyen, Tusk and Stubbs Pee tapes?

Carney just announced that Canada will violate a court order by barring Russian players from the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship. While they bar Russians teenagers, Israeli athletes are ok. On Friday the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that Russia must be reinstated to international hockey competitions. The court overturned a ban imposed following Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The Russian Ice hockey federation said they plan to participate in the World Junior Hockey tournament in Alberta, which begins in six weeks. On Tuesday Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada will ignore the court ruling and deny entry to Russian and Belarusian athletes so long as there’s a war in Ukraine. “Russia and Belarus are supporting this illegal and unjustified horrific war in Ukraine, as long as that's going on, there will be none of those athletes competing for their countries in Canada. So if you're asking specifically about the World Juniors, the Russians will not be there,” the PM told the press. Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine was illegal and that war is brutal, but it was provoked and is being prolonged by NATO. As I’ve detailed repeatedly, Canada played a substantial role in laying the groundwork for Russia’s invasion by promoting NATO expansion eastward, helping oust an elected neutrality-minded president in 2014 and assisting efforts to sabotage the Minsk II peace accord. By any serious metric, the immorality of what’s transpired in Gaza is far more straightforward. In that case a people who were mostly ethnically cleansed from their homes in 1948 and have faced a ferocious two-decade long siege, with periodic ‘mowing the lawn’ mass killings, attacked the occupier. The explicitly supremacist state then used the Palestinians resistance to launch a live streamed genocide against a population facing uniquely isolated living conditions. Yet Canada opposes Israel’s exclusion from sports or song competitions. Amidst the genocide IOF veterans have competed in the Invictus Games in Vancouver, Canada played Israel in tennis in Halifax and the Israel Premier Tech cycling team competed at the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal. Additionally, notes Ben Thompson, Israelis competed at Skate Canada International, World Skydiving Championships, Artistic Swimming World Cup and Maccabi Games in Canada. A former IOF soldier also played an MLS match in Montreal. Taking a slightly different angle, Davide Mastracci posted to X, “Mark Carney has let Netanyahu fly over Canada repeatedly, in violation of the ICC arrest warrant he's bound to uphold. He’s now refusing to let Russian athletes into Canada, citing the Ukraine war. Carney will punish teen hockey players, but let a genocidal leader off the hook.” Even before the past three years of Israeli horrors in Gaza, Lebanon, Iran and elsewhere, the Israel/US vs Russia sports boycott double standard was flagrant. In March 2023 I asked then sports minister Pascale St-Onge about her push to bar Russian and Belarusian athletes from international sports competitions in response to Moscow’s illegal invasion of Ukraine. As an assistant sought to whisk the sports minister out of the room, I asked whether she felt the same way about US athletes after that country invaded Iraq? St-Onge smirked and walked away. I followed the minister out of the room to ask whether Canada’s athletes should also have been excluded after this country led the 2011 NATO bombing of Libya, which remains divided and devastated. She continued to move towards the elevator while her assistant sought to (politely) disrupt my line of inquiry. As the minister waited to descend, I asked what she thought about Israeli athletes participating in international competitions despite its apartheid and illegal occupation of Palestinian land. St-Onge waited uncomfortably. As she entered the elevator, I again asked about Israel and gave the minister a final opportunity to reply by hitting the elevator button to re-open a near closed door. Several million viewed the clip on various social media platforms while it was reported on by Chinese, Indian, Russian, Qatar and Venezuelan media. While it was a dramatic interaction, the video’s popularity was due to the flagrant double standards it exposed. It also (indirectly) highlight media complicity in the racist, imperial double standards. Carney’s ‘ban Russian teenage hockey players but allow Israeli soldiers to play’ double standard is absent from dominant media reports. Wednesday’s front page Globe and Mail story on the ban ignores it while (liberal) Toronto Star columnist Bruce Arthur does the same. Arthur writes that “Russia is the enemy of Europe, and of free societies everywhere” and his only mention of the US, which has bombed nine countries over the past eighteen months, is to complain that Trump’s “aligned with Russia on issue after issue.” Will any journalist with access ask Carney, foreign minister Anita Anand or sports minister Adam van Koeverden “why is Canada defying a court ruling to bar Russian athletes but embraces Israeli athletes?”

Does anyone seriously believe the Kremlin woke up this morning in a state of panic over results that American pollsters and prediction markets had been openly flagging for weeks and months? Russian spooks can read polls and Polymarket too, just like everyone else (and they also can see the price of gasoline). Rightly or wrongly, Moscow has long regarded political Washington as a foreign-policy uniparty (reliably pro-Israel, broadly hostile to Russia, etc.) regardless of which party controls Congress, so they will believe not much has changed.
Putin's clock for getting a deal in Ukraine just started ticking much faster today. Trump is fading fast. Putin would be wise to try to secure a ceasefire now. It will only get harder with time.

Tusk’s Kaliningrad gamble The Polish PM has launched a counter-terror operation on Russia’s border while his government descends into infighting. He invented the threat of a Russian provocation and sent quasi-military units to the border with Russia’s Kaliningrad. These included reinforced police, counter-terrorism units from elsewhere in the country, the elite GROM special forces, Border Guard, other military personnel, and intelligence services. A command center was set up at National Police Headquarters. Tusk said Polish border guards spotted “people with torches” on the Russian side of the border on Monday. ➡️ Tusk could be thinking of a Halloween trick or treat; who knows? The border guards have also seen many cars and hundreds of trees. This is surely also an indication of bad things to come. Come on, Tusk. Attack!

What utter bullshit from Education Ministers. Australian kids would be better off learning International & Domestic law, so can safeguard it in future and more importantly, affects of racism, particularly against AUSTRALIAN First Nations people 😡
Australian students will be learn about antisemitism & the horrors of the Holocaust from next year as part of a new national curriculum. By the same standards, the curriculum should cover the genocide occurring in their lifetime - the Genocide In Palestine abc.net.au/news/2026-11-05/e… #FreePalestine #auspol
