Look at the records, listen to the hot mics, read the court filings, and compare what politicians say with what they actually do. In Kansas, a New York Times investigation found that Sen. Roger Marshall sued more than 700 former patients over medical debt. Court records showed arrests in 81 cases after missed court appearances, and his practice charged 18% annual interest. One senior couple spent two nights in jail after an arrest related to a $4,561 bill for an emergency hysterectomy. But he couldn’t be bothered to pay a $700 bakery bill. for six years, until he was called out THIS MONTH. In Michigan, a hot mic caught Mike Rogers discussing $50 copays for annual physicals. A separate recording captured him proposing retired or off-duty police officers as Detroit poll watchers, saying, “Go ahead. Try to intimidate them. Please.” In Texas, a financial-disclosure investigation raised questions about a ken Paxton’s rental income and undisclosed mortgages. In Ohio’s Ramaswamy campaign and North Carolina’s Whatley campaign ads and party appointments involving convicted sex offenders raised questions about vetting and accountability.
