If you stood before God tonight and He asked, “Why should I let you into heaven?” what would your reason be? One sentence or less.

There is nothing I could say to justify getting into heaven. I am guilty as charged and rely completely on His mercy. Any confidence I have is because of His faithfulness.

I would probably say you shouldn't let me into heaven because I am not worthy. None of us are worthy but thank goodness for God's grace.

Honestly, I think about this moment often. There is nothing that could or would say. As I envision this heavy moment, I would weep and simply bow down at His feet in tears and completely broken knowing my unworthiness. I would wash His feet in my tears if He would allow it and give myself over to His mercy. The only confidence in life I have is in His faithfulness. He never made a promise that was broken. My life hasn’t been perfect. I’ve had my own struggles. And, I thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for never abandoning me. He kept His promises. Everyone.

God, I stand before you with no claim of my own. I am a sinner, and I am not sure I believe I am worthy to be in your magnificent house. Father, I am on my knees asking you to forgive me of all my sins, and if you believe I belong in your house, I humbly ask you to let me walk into your house. Father, I understand if you choose not to allow me into your house, but you will always be my God and my Father who I will always worship. Amen.
