KPC–DANGOTE DEAL: RUTO REFUSES TO DISCLOSE DETAILS President William Ruto has declined to disclose the details of Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote’s acquisition of a 25% stake in the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC), arguing that the shares are available on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) for anyone to buy. Ruto has described the agreement as a standard investment deal, while reportedly threatening to deal with those questioning the transaction. But the bigger question remains: If this is a standard investment agreement, why not make the details transparent? Public interest demands accountability, especially when a major national infrastructure company is involved. Kenyans deserve clarity on the terms of the deal, the valuation of the shares, and the protections in place to safeguard the country's interests. Transparency is not an attack on investment. It is a foundation of public trust.

KENYA RECORDS 4.2 MILLION CASES AS DRUG RESISTANCE CONCERNS GROW Kenya recorded approximately 4.2 million malaria cases in 2024, with the disease continuing to pose a major public health challenge. Baringo is among the counties highlighted in reports on the country's malaria response. The government is introducing a multiple first-line treatment strategy, incorporating different approved antimalarial drug combinations, to preserve the effectiveness of existing medicines amid growing concerns about drug resistance. The approach includes artesunate-pyronaridine and other established artemisinin-based combination therapies. But several questions remain: ▪️ Are existing malaria drugs gradually losing their effectiveness in some regions? ▪️ How effectively will the new treatment strategy prevent resistance? ▪️ Is Kenya investing enough in malaria research, surveillance, prevention and public education? ▪️ Could scientifically validated traditional medicines contribute to future treatment options? Malaria remains a serious threat, particularly to children under five and pregnant women. Kenya needs evidence-based treatment, stronger research, effective mosquito control and reliable access to medicines. The goal must be clear: save lives, prevent resistance and move closer to eliminating malaria.

TO KENYANS: WHAT DOES CHANGE REALLY MEAN? Do you want change? What is your definition of change? How do you recognise it? What drives it? And do you possess the skills to bring it about? Is changing the government enough? What if we simply replace one group of corrupt leaders with another? Many Kenyans believe change will come at the ballot. But is it guaranteed? How sure are you that a new government will transform your life? Perhaps it is time to rethink our approach. Change begins with you. Develop skills. Master them. Put them into practice. Become employable, create opportunities and offer solutions to society's problems. When a new government comes to power, will you have something valuable to offer, or will you still be waiting for politicians to rescue you? Life rewards value. What value are you bringing to society? You cannot build lasting independence while depending entirely on leaders who overtax you and misuse public resources. Rethink your direction. Invest in yourself. Build your capacity to stand independently. Stop allowing politicians to use you as tools in their political expeditions. Be your own master. Real change is not a one-day event. It takes time, discipline, knowledge and consistent effort. Do not wait for elections to begin changing your life. By then, it might be too late. Vote for better leadership, but also invest in becoming a better version of yourself. A new government may change the country's direction, but your skills, mindset and actions can change your destiny. KENYANS, IT IS TIME TO RETHINK WHAT CHANGE REALLY MEANS.

🚨 M-PESA SCANDAL: SAFARICOM DISMISSES 118 EMPLOYEES OVER FRAUD-RELATED MISCONDUCT Safaricom has reportedly recovered KSh953 million linked to inflated agent commissions, while cases of theft, falsified records and unauthorised access to customers’ call records have also raised serious concerns. Here is how commission inflation can work. Suppose an agent is entitled to KSh10,000 in commissions, but manipulated records cause the system to calculate KSh15,000. The extra KSh5,000 becomes an irregular payment. When repeated across numerous transactions, such amounts can accumulate into millions. But the concerns go beyond commissions. Interpol estimated that Kenyans lost KSh491.6 million to SIM-swap fraud, a technique criminals use to take control of victims’ phone numbers and potentially gain access to their financial accounts. This raises a fundamental question: Who protects Kenyans when the systems entrusted with safeguarding their money and personal data are themselves vulnerable to abuse? Safaricom plays a critical role in Kenya’s financial ecosystem. Millions depend on M-PESA for daily transactions, savings and business. The company must therefore demonstrate accountability, strengthen internal controls and ensure that anyone who abuses their position faces the consequences. Customers deserve more than assurances. They deserve transparency, security and trust. If our money and personal data are at risk from both external criminals and alleged insider misconduct, what measures will guarantee that customers remain protected?

🇰🇪 KENYAN TAXPAYERS COULD FACE A SH181 BILLION LIABILITY Kenyan taxpayers could be on the hook for Sh181 billion if the government cancels the 30-year Rironi–Mau Summit highway concession. According to the National Treasury, the figure represents a potential termination liability, not an immediate bill. The big question is: If the concession is cancelled, who bears the financial burden — and what would taxpayers gain or lose from the decision? Public infrastructure projects must be assessed not only on their promises, but also on their long-term costs, transparency and value for money. Kenya deserves accountability before billions of public money are put at risk.

Kenya was once regarded as a safe haven for people fleeing instability and persecution across the world. Today, that reputation is increasingly under threat. The country is facing disturbing allegations of abductions involving both Kenyan citizens and foreign nationals, with government critics among those reportedly targeted. The recent case in Mtwapa adds to growing public concern about the safety of people who speak out against those in power. Since William Ruto took office, allegations of abductions and enforced disappearances have become a major human rights concern. A government has a duty to protect its citizens, not create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. When people can disappear for expressing dissent, democracy itself is in danger. Ruto must be held accountable for his government's responsibility to protect every person in Kenya. Silence, denial and impunity cannot restore public trust. Kenya must never become a country where speaking truth to power comes at the cost of one's freedom or life.

🚨 BREAKING: WHO-BACKED OPPOSITION TO MAHA-LINKED BABY HEPATITIS B TRIAL A controversial US-funded clinical trial involving 14,000 newborns in Guinea-Bissau has been halted after authorities refused the necessary government approval. The study, linked to US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s MAHA agenda, planned to compare vaccination at birth with delaying the hepatitis B vaccine until six weeks of age. The WHO and other health experts raised serious ethical concerns, warning that withholding a proven vaccine could expose newborns to preventable infections and long-term liver disease. Important clarification: The trial was halted by Guinea-Bissau’s authorities, not simply terminated by the WHO. The decision does not mean the hepatitis B vaccine itself has been withdrawn.

🚨 HUMANITARIAN CONCERN: MAR SABIT RECEIVES 38,000 PEOPLE FLEEING WAR IN ETHIOPIA Marsabit County has reportedly received 38,000 people fleeing conflict in neighbouring Ethiopia, raising concerns about the growing humanitarian needs in the region. Urgent intervention is needed from the national government and humanitarian agencies to provide food, clean water, shelter, healthcare and other essential services. The response must also support host communities facing additional pressure on limited resources. Humanitarian assistance must be swift, coordinated and sufficient to protect displaced families and the communities welcoming them. #Kenya #Marsabit #Ethiopia #HumanitarianCrisis

🚨 BREAKING: MELANIA TRUMP ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF UKRAINE–RUSSIA CEASEFIRE U.S. First Lady Melania Trump says the localized ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia has been expanded beyond Oleshky in the Kherson region to facilitate the safe passage of humanitarian aid convoys. She said the timing was moved forward by two days to protect civilians and ensure the delivery of critical humanitarian supplies. The ceasefire took effect on October 27, 2026, as part of a humanitarian initiative aimed at assisting civilians trapped in the war zone. The truce is localized and does not mean the wider Russia–Ukraine war has ended.
