Different populations of cancer cells can exist within it and evolve over time, including under the pressure of treatment.
A new Nature Cancer review looks at how understanding and tracking that evolution could lead to better ways to diagnose, monitor and treat cancer.

We know most bladder cancers express HER-2 protein, which has become useful ADC target. @scocmem shows >90% of patients also express HER 1 and HER 3 (usually concurrently). This is relevant because the IZABRIGHT R3 trial (enrolling) tests a HER1/3 dual target ADC (IzaBren) in UC. In this article @Annals_Oncology GLP1 receptor agonists reduce cancer incidence. The focus is on those cancers linked to obesity @AparnaKamatMD . A retrospective study with a large sample size in people looking to lose weight . A detailed case/control type method. 41%⬇️ in cancer with GLP1 injections. It’s not clear if the effects of wt loss or the agonists are having an effect. Validation needed. Great work!!

1/This phase III trial evaluated whether adding the HIF-2α inhibitor Belzutifan (BEL) to adjuvant pembrolizumab (PEMBRO) could improve outcomes for patients with resected clear-cell RCC at increased risk for recurrence.

Histological variants are biologically different:
✅ Early RC remains the standard for most of them.
✅Platinum-etoposide NAC in small-cell UC
✅Molecular profiling is needed

CaboNivo final results in non-clear cell RCC presented by Dr Darren Feldman: ORR 43% in Cohort 1 (papillary, unclassified, tRCC), with a striking 88% ORR in FH-deficient RCC. mPFS 11 mo, mOS 28 mo.
