Not a fan of the anc but South Africa was never first world
south africa went from a first world country with nuclear power and one of the largest railway systems in the world to a third world country in just 30 years progress is not a guarantee. decay is the natural state of things

South African was never a first world country in the 1900s South Africa had the population of 40m as of 1994 yet 20m South Africans lived in poverty (50% of the population) How can you be a first world country with half your citizens living in abject poverty?? South Africa was only a first world country for the colonizers the black population couldn’t experience it

China has joined Germany and Russia in publicly challenging Washington's exclusion of South Africa from the G20, as foreign ministers from the world's leading economies gather in Atlanta. Beijing says South Africa remains an important member of the grouping and should continue participating in its activities. The intervention adds to growing diplomatic pressure on the Trump administration, which has refused to invite Pretoria to meetings under its G20 presidency, including December's leaders' summit in Miami. #sabcnews

Why are there no one told us anything
33 countries have now told households to stock up on emergency food, water and supplies. Most are telling their citizens to prepare for 3-10 days with Sweden and Norway suggesting 7 and Germany suggesting up to 10. Official reasons are “war, extreme weather, or cyber security threats.” The Binance hack (the largest heist in history) shows how powerful hackers are now with AI. All systems are at risk. Climate change has lead to some insane weather events also and Europe has been gearing up for war the past two years. Is this is a nothing burger? Or do you think something else is going on here?

Any likely graduation from AGOA doesn't mean South Africa loses market access. It just means the tariffs would nudge up a bit. In the end, we need a trade agreement with the U.S. at some point.

YOUR TAKE? Should Lt Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi become the next National Head of the Hawks? Will this strengthen South Africa’s fight against organised crime and corruption? 👇 Have your say. Comment.
COMMENT: The proposed appointment of Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi as National Head of the Hawks could be a game-changer for South Africa. We need strong, fearless leadership to take on crime kingpins, expose corruption and dismantle criminal networks -no matter how powerful or connected they are. South Africans want action, accountability and results. It’s time to go after the big fish! The fight against organised crime must be relentless.
