Can a nation organized and governed such as ours endure? A whole world looks to see what we will do. We cannot fail their trust, we cannot fail to try. He/Him.

A massive new study shows updated COVID-19 vaccines slash the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and deaths. A groundbreaking study published in JAMA Internal Medicine shows that updated COVID-19 vaccines offer powerful protection for the heart, reducing the risk of severe cardiovascular events like heart attacks, strokes, and heart failure by almost 40%. Analyzing data from more than 1 million U.S. veterans, researchers discovered that vaccination not only mitigates virus-specific heart damage but also leads to a 6% drop in overall severe cardiovascular disease and a 7% reduction in all-cause hospitalizations and deaths. For every 10,000 people vaccinated, the shot was linked to preventing roughly 23 major cardiovascular events, 30 hospitalizations, and 16 deaths over just an eight-month period. The cardiovascular benefits were most pronounced in adults over age 75 and individuals living with chronic conditions like diabetes, lung disease, or pre-existing heart issues. Doctors emphasize that COVID-19 is far more than a respiratory illness; the virus causes systemic inflammation, blood vessel damage, and clotting, all of which strain the heart. Crucially, vaccinated individuals also saw fewer health complications that were not directly linked to a diagnosed COVID-19 case, suggesting the vaccine may ward off damage from mild or undetected infections. These findings underscore that keeping up with vaccinations is a vital tool for long-term cardiovascular health. source: Cai, M., Xie, Y., & Al-Aly, Z. How is it possible that this document has been read by tens of millions of people all over the world on the internet but a senior senator on the Intel Committee hasn’t?
Nearly 24 hours after the 14 points were released yesterday, Sen. Susan Collins tells @mkraju "I have not reviewed the MOU yet," when pressed on whether the war was successful.

In the 60 Minutes interview, CBS edited out some of Donald Trump's off-the-rails rants. According to @newrepublic, "he rambled about his ballroom, how hot his Secret Service agents are, and how the No Kings protests are just like the Ku Klux Klan." newrepublic.com/post/209590/…

Lots of Republicans seem big mad that their party didn't spend enough money to win the redistricting referendum in Virginia. FYI: The other way they could have won the redistricting referendum in Virginia would have been not to start it by gerrymandering Texas/NC.

"For all of the intellectual dressing, Hungary has ended up looking more like Vladimir Putin’s mafia state, while Poland and the Baltic states, which adopted more classic market solutions, are on course to be richer than Spain and Italy."
A Hungarian official once offered me serious money to publish Spectator content translated into Hungarian. Am attempt to get us on Orban's payroll. For 16yrs he has sought to build a global network of 'illiberal conservatism'. My column on the results:- times-comment.com/orban

NEW: Pope Leo XIV’s close ally Cardinal Robert McElroy received a standing ovation at the end of his homily, where he called on Catholics to take up civic action to help end the “immoral” war against Iran. “When we leave this church tonight, we must move beyond prayer. As citizens and believers in this democracy that we cherish so deeply, we must advocate for peace with our representatives and leaders. “It is not enough to say we have prayed. We must also act. For it is very possible that the negotiations will fail because of recalcitrance on both sides, and the president will move to re-enter this immoral war. “At that critical juncture, as disciples of Jesus Christ called to be peacemakers in the world, we must answer vocally and in unison: “No. Not in our name. Not at this moment. Not with our country.”

Why did Orban lose? Affordability. Hungary’s economy has been a mess because of his corruption/cronyism. People will tolerate a corrupt autocrat, turns out, but not if their own lives are getting worse. huffpost.com/entry/trump-orb…

Stop calling him a master strategist. He may have wrecked his economy, failed to change a regime and had to make a massive "goodwill gesture", but he has NOT taken 1.3 million casualties doing it. 😤

The current economic crisis has propelled Florida to dead last in the nation for renters. This is a generational inflection point for our state. We must have new solutions, new investments, and commit to an economy that works for everyone in our state. We're deep in a crisis.
