Statements like this is precisely why NAACP is telling recruits to avoid SEC schools. Couldn’t have timed it better
.@EDSecMcMahon is correct. DEI is discriminatory by design, antithetical to the purpose of a university, and incompatible with the pursuit of truth.
The University of Florida has already acted on that conviction. In December 2025, our Board of Trustees adopted institutional neutrality and embedded an anti-DEI mandate within the presidential contract itself, ensuring that no university funds, public or private, will underwrite DEI at this institution.
Dr. Stuart Bell stands with Secretary McMahon, the Board, and the people of Florida on this. He is ready to lead UF forward as a university defined by merit, rigor, and the pursuit of truth.

Only in Florida will voters drive through flooded streets because the governor vetoed flood remediation projects to build a now defunct concentration camp in the Everglades and vote the same party in power.

At this moment of history, the Democratic National Committee and National Finance Committee have ignored the Southern States and gave no resources to the campaigns of Angie Nixon (FL), Jamie Davis(LA), and Scott Colom (MISS). Ms. Nixon and Mr. Davis lost by a couple of % points. Mr. Colom awaits a miracle victory on a razors edge. The Supreme Court destroyed the Voters Right Act of the Civil Rights movement and Black folks answered the clarion call to fight back because there is BLOOD ON THAT BALLOT BOX. To many died to turn back now. From this night forward there is a New Southern Stratergy led by advocates like Gary Chambers in Louisiana and Stacey Adams in Georgia. This is political malpractice by Chuck Schumer and the National Democratic Party. So while evil people plot, good people plan! The fight continues in the morning. Mississippi will be battlefront. Bernie held 4 rallies for Angie Nixon, had 4 staffers on the ground, contributed $330,000 to support her directly and raised another $266,000.
She's currently within about 2 points. Imagine if the establishment hadn't written this race off.

Never forget that Angie Nixon lost by 3 points after being snubbed by Schumer and the Dem establishment for running on a progressive, DSA-backed platform this cycle.
⭕️ Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer is keeping campaign money away from Florida’s Black pro-Palestine progressive Democratic Senate nominee Angie Nixon. She asked for support, and his answer, she says, was “We’ll see.”
The DSCC is Democrats’ Senate campaign arm. Its chair selected by Schumer, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, has asked other senators to help Nixon, but Nixon says she is still waiting for a commitment from the committee to help keep her TV ads on air.
Nixon believes national Democrats may be hesitating to support her because she is a progressive Black woman running in the South. There is also a sharp divide over Gaza. Nixon calls Israel’s assault a genocide and has pledged to block U.S. weapons transfers. Schumer and Gillibrand both voted in April against advancing a measure to block an arms sale to Israel, even as most Senate Democrats supported it.
