I’m crying, people are really calling one of the earliest theories and something that was CONFIRMED in 6.4 a retcon

oh but i thought boys didn’t have any issues with representation and as long as it was cool they’d love it!
Young boys are being discouraged from getting into reading—and it’s because more books are missing one key element, @sophiah_n reports: theatlantic.com/culture/2026…

So…
…we’re all reporting when ao3 is back up, right? We all agree that having an OTW volunteer doing racist crashouts on Elon Musk’s internet is completely inappropriate and we will report accordingly. RIGHT???

Do not go looking for Hotel Transylvania concept art if you don't want to feel depressed for what could have been
"Why doesn't the final character design ever look as good as the concept art?"
Because the designs they come up with in concept art are iterative and are often found to not be easily readable in 3D space under different lighting conditions or with different facial expressions.
They also have to be easy to animate when budgets are constrained, and have to be possible to make into a toy for merchandising.
There's also just plain old marketability. A design that's too exotic risks alienating potential audiences. That means it has to follow current trends and recognizable shape language.
Also, sometimes the concept art you see is from a completely different conception of the character. A character's personality and role in the story can change significantly over the course of production or development, sometimes going from a villain or side character to a protagonist or vice versa.

see how ellipsus produces a timely feature that addresses current discourse without having to get involved in petty argumentations? they dont have to put ao3 down to give certain fans what they want. they dont have to come up w legally impossible demands.
very demure, v mindful!
Nothing beats writing… except being read! (… and kudos)

what's killing me is that her interests aren't even really that niche, filipinos are just a bunch of normies 😭

OVER A WEEK WITHOUT AO3 😖
One of the world's most popular fan fiction libraries has been dark for over a week after a cyberattack forced it offline, leaving millions of fans without access to their favorite stories.

lol canva was once THE company so many young creatives dreamed of being part of esp those trying to break into the industry. now we’re watching companies frame workforce reduction as advancement while pushing aside the creative talents that built their brands & made it successful

Okay guys I hereby declare that if you cannot name the thirteen sovereign lords without looking them up you can’t say anything about this discourse

and we literally "ascend" our characters whenever we level them up 🫡 oh my god realizing as i'm typing, we pull for them FROM the sky and then we literally ascend them back up, it's an endless cycle 😭
