🚨💜 TWO BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM BRAVE LIKE REMINGTON! 🩷🚨
We’ve been working behind the scenes on a couple of exciting additions to our foundation, and today we’re thrilled to announce that BOTH are officially LIVE on our website!
👩‍⚕️ INTRODUCING BRAVE NURSE OF THE MONTH!
If you’ve ever had a child in the hospital, you know just how much of a difference an incredible nurse can make.
They’re there for the long nights, the scary moments, the tears, and the little victories. They become familiar faces when everything else feels uncertain.
And sometimes, they become family. ❤️
We believe these incredible men and women deserve to be celebrated!
That’s why we’ve launched our Brave Nurse of the Month program!
Each month, we’ll recognize an outstanding nurse who has made a difference in the lives of children and families.
Do you know a nurse who deserves some recognition? WE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THEM!
👇 NOMINATE YOUR BRAVE NURSE HERE:

🦸‍♀️💜 INTRODUCING OUR NEW BRAVE HEROES PAGE!
One of the most meaningful parts of our foundation has been getting to know the incredible children and families fighting battles that no child should ever have to face.
Every single one of these children has a story.
They’re more than their diagnosis. They have personalities, favorite things, dreams, and a level of courage that inspires everyone around them.
We want to give those stories a place to shine!
Our brand-new Brave Heroes page is now LIVE, giving parents and guardians a way to submit their child’s story and help us recognize the amazing little warriors in our communities.
👇 SHARE YOUR BRAVE HERO’S STORY HERE:

When we created Brave Like Remington, we wanted to do more than send care packages. We wanted to create something that truly makes a difference in the lives of children, families, and the people who care for them.
Behind every Brave Hero is a story worth sharing. Behind so many of those stories is a nurse who made a difference. Today, we’re making sure both get the recognition they deserve. 💜🩷
One Big Brave Breath.

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on here. A LOT has happened since then.
The last time I was active, my family had just experienced one of the hardest losses of our lives when my mom passed away. Shortly after, our little girl Remington was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma.
I won’t sugarcoat it. These past few months have been absolute hell. But they’ve also shown me just how much good there still is in this world.
Remington is still fighting, and she’s doing it with more courage than I could ever put into words. Her tumor has shrunk by more than 50%, and she continues to amaze us every single day. ❤️
But something else incredible happened along the way.
My wife and I founded Brave Like Remington Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing courage, comfort, and hope to children facing serious illnesses.
And what started as an idea during the darkest time of our lives has grown into something I never could’ve imagined.
💜 We’ve delivered Brave Boxes to children in 15 hospitals across 12 states.
💜 We’ve received recognition from the Cincinnati Reds and coverage from multiple news outlets.
💜 We’ve published our very own children’s book, Brave Like Remington, along with a coloring book to bring smiles to children in hospitals.
💜 We’re building relationships with hospitals, businesses, and communities to help us reach even more children.
And we’re just getting started!
My ultimate goal is to build one of the largest organizations of its kind in the country. I want Remington’s courage to touch the lives of thousands of children and families.
I never imagined I’d lose my mom, watch my daughter fight cancer, and become the president of a nonprofit all in the same year.
Life can change in an instant.
If you’re seeing this, I’d love for you to follow and support @BraveLikeRemi . Even a simple repost can help us reach someone who needs us.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported our family and this mission. You have no idea how much it means to us.
One Big Brave Breath. đź’śđź©·

Thank you all for the prayers and support! We are trying to bring as much awareness to pediatric neuroblastoma as possible!

The last time I posted on here, it was because I lost my mom to cancer.
I haven’t posted since. Honestly, I think I was still trying to process everything.
Then on June 30, our world was turned upside down again. My 2 year old daughter, Remington, was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma.
I think part of me avoided posting because saying it out loud made it feel real.
Since then, life has been a whirlwind of hospital stays, chemotherapy, fear, hope, and watching a little girl show more strength than I ever thought possible.
If you pray, please pray for Remington. She has a long fight ahead of her, but she’s one tough little girl.
I’ll start sharing more of her journey here. Thank you to everyone who has supported our family and kept us in your thoughts.
Hug your kids a little tighter tonight.

Wednesday at 8:09 PM, our mom, Tonya Gail Hammel, peacefully passed away surrounded by family.
We want to thank everyone for all the thoughts, prayers, messages, and love you’ve shown us during this difficult time.
My mom spent her life helping others whenever she could. Now we’re asking for help easing the financial burden my dad is facing after her long battle with cancer.
Any donation, share, or continued prayer means more than you know. ❤️

Swifties, I need your help.
My mom recently passed away after a long battle with ovarian cancer. One of her favorite things was listening to Taylor Swift with her grandchildren. Whether it was singing along in the car, dancing in the living room, or just sharing those moments together.
As we navigate this loss, we’re trying to help ease the financial burden on my dad, who sacrificed so much while caring for my mom through her cancer journey.
If you could share this post, help spread our GoFundMe, or even help it reach Taylor, it would mean the world to our family. Every share matters.
Mom was a Swiftie until the very end. ❤️

This is one of the hardest times our family has ever faced. My mom is battling end-stage ovarian cancer, and the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming. We’re grateful for any support you can offer, whether through donations or sharing our story. Your kindness means everything. Thank you. gofund.me/14bf7f611
This morning, my mom (Tonya Robinson Hammel)was taken to the hospital by ambulance. At this point, the doctors and our family have made the decision to move her into hospice care and focus on keeping her comfortable.
For those who know her, know how strong she has always been and how much she means to so many people. This is an incredibly difficult time for our family.
We would greatly appreciate all prayers for peace, comfort, and strength in the short time we have left. We also ask that everyone please respect our family’s privacy as we navigate this together.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out, checked in, prayed, and shown love to our family. It truly means more than words can express.

I want to apologize for being mostly absent from social media lately. A lot of my time has been spent helping care for my mom as she battles end-stage ovarian cancer.
Over the last several weeks her condition has declined significantly. She is now bedridden and our family has been doing everything we can to help care for her and support my dad through all of this.
My dad has already used most of his vacation time trying to care for my mom and will soon have to rely on unpaid FMLA if he wants to continue being home with her. He’s also had to pull a lot from his retirement savings just to help cover treatments, bills, and everyday expenses during this fight.
I normally hate asking for help, but if anybody could find it in their hearts to donate, share our GoFundMe, or simply say a prayer for my mom and family, we would truly appreciate it more than words can express.
Thank you all for the support, prayers, and understanding. ❤️
