We will learn this the hard way. Our battlefield has changed, but our comfort and convenience is our greatest vulnerability, PERIOD FULL STOP.
BREAKING: This morning’s cyberattack against supermarket fridges and freezers has now spread to Belgium, Sweden, Luxembourg and Estonia. The hackers increased the temperature up to 50C. Food worth millions of euros has been spoiled. Experts warn that such cyberattacks on supply chains and logistics can constitute a threat to national food security in many Western states.

A NEW DAWN arrives Texas! 10 Seconds of sunrise on time lapse… 10 Seconds to adjust the words we speak over ourselves. Remember words, attitudes and thoughts carry power over the outcome. "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." - Prov 18:21 Can you deduce where this might be. Hint; Somewhere along the Gulf of Texas. Ever stalwart, ~ Doc

Inbox flooded this morning, more than normal, with people asking about buying this vs that. Having equipment is good. Having knowledge is more important. The only counter to blind fear is working knowledge.

🚨 OUT NOW 🚨 HE DIDN’T THINK HE WAS RANGER MATERIAL. His first sergeant had other ideas. Retired SFC Jonathon “Jon” Baxley went from leading a scout/sniper team in Baghdad to putting the next generation through Ranger School. Combat. Mortars. Self-doubt. And the leader who gave him the push that changed his career. Jon calls himself “just a normal guy with some cool stories.” We’ll let you be the judge. 🎙️ His episode of Boots & Chutes Unfiltered drops TODAY. 👇 Who believed in you before you believed in yourself? Good Morning, Please join me for a daily scripture break. Psalm 37:7: "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” On the internet, TV, and radio the political ads are everywhere. The tension in the air is almost palpable. Tomorrow our nation will go to the polls.  No matter the results, good or bad please keep this verse in mind as you consider your choices. Please pray for peace and order during polling tomorrow. Implicitly trust the Lord and vote according to your conscience. Have a blessed day. Peace and be prepared.

Logged the repeaters within this network that are interlinked. This is good area study while out letting the dog play at the dog park. In one afternoon I learned where guys are chatting and how far I can listen in for “snooping info” in case this was a weather crisis or worse. I now know there will be dudes chatting on this Net. Mapped/Logged it

As a CSM, the commander and I walked every live fire. Watching those Soldiers put it all together never got old. The squad that struggled during rehearsals was now moving with confidence. Team leaders were taking charge. The PL and PSG were working through problems without somebody standing over their shoulders. Then you watched it come together. Fire and maneuver. Talking guns. Effects on target. Integrating their weapon systems and every echelon of fires needed to seize the objective. You knew how much work it took to get there. You’d watched every rough rehearsal, missed signal, and correction. Some struggled. So we reset, coached them, and ran it again until they got it right. Because there are no do-overs in combat. Watching those young leaders from the PL and PSG down to the team leaders make decisions, control the fight, and lead their Soldiers put a damn smile on my face. You walked off tired, covered in dirt, and proud of the boys. They earned your confidence. Whenever the country called, you knew what they could bring to the fight. This video was from when we did platoon live fires at Camp Ethan Allen Training Site, home of the Mountain Warfare School. 👇 Infantry leaders: when did you watch your Soldiers and think, “They’re ready”? June 6, 1944. An American paratrooper jumps into Normandy in the dark and lands on the roof of a church. By the end of the war he had been declared dead, held a funeral he didn't attend, escaped the Nazis, and fought his way toward Berlin in a Soviet tank unit. His name was Joseph Beyrle. He's believed to be the only American soldier to serve in both the US Army and the Red Army during World War Two. Beyrle was from Muskegon, Michigan. He joined the 101st Airborne, the Screaming Eagles. His buddies called him Jumpin' Joe. On D-Day night his plane was hit by flak and he jumped early. He came down on a church roof, slid off, and lost his unit in the chaos. For a few days he fought on his own, blowing up a power station and cutting German communications. Then he was captured. Here's where it gets strange. A German soldier ended up wearing Beyrle's uniform and dog tags. That German was killed. When the body was found, the Americans identified it as Joseph Beyrle. The army told his parents their son was dead. His hometown held a funeral mass for him. His obituary ran in the local paper. Meanwhile, he was very much alive, being moved from one German prison camp to another. He escaped more than once. One time he and two other prisoners jumped off a train heading east. They thought they were heading for Russia and freedom. They got lost and ended up in Berlin, where they were caught by the Gestapo, beaten, and tortured. In January 1945, from a camp in eastern Germany, he finally made a clean escape. He went east, toward the gunfire. Toward the Soviets. When he found a Soviet tank unit, he walked out with his hands up, holding a pack of Lucky Strike cigarettes, and shouted the only Russian he knew. American comrade. It worked. He asked to join them. And they said yes. For about a month, an American paratrooper rode with Soviet tank crews as they pushed toward Germany. He used his demolition training. He fought. He was reportedly welcomed by a Soviet officer who was one of the rare women commanding a tank battalion. Then a German dive bomber attacked. Beyrle was badly wounded. He was evacuated to a Soviet hospital. Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov reportedly visited, heard his story, and gave him papers to get to the American embassy in Moscow. When he showed up, the embassy didn't believe him. As far as the US was concerned, Joseph Beyrle was dead. They held him under guard until his fingerprints proved who he was. He made it home to Michigan in April 1945. In 1946 he got married. In the same church where they'd held his funeral. Decades later, in 1994, he was honored at the White House by President Bill Clinton and Russian President Boris Yeltsin for serving both countries. And the last twist. His son, Joseph Beyrle II, grew up to become the United States Ambassador to Russia.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Joseph Robert “Joe” Beyrle had two sons. The elder son, Joe Beyrle II, served during the Vietnam War, but wasn’t a US Ambassador. That was the other son, John Beyrle. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Be…

Keith Callahan was the kind of platoon sergeant you thought nothing could happen to. The man was a badass. In this clip, I talk with Travis Cooke about the day we lost SFC Keith A. Callahan and how hard it hit us. I looked up to Keith. Having to step in as acting platoon sergeant after losing him was something I never expected to do. Still wish I could sit down and have another conversation with him. Miss you, brother. 🇺🇸 If you served with Keith, I’d love to hear a story about him. Full episode with Travis Cooke is out now on Boots & Chutes Unfiltered, pinned above on my profile. Check it out.
