Knew we had it 😏

Painful 😖 felt like we threw away the playbook. Looked like Portland read ours a dozen times before they stepped onto the pitch, and twice at halftime. But that’s 4 L’s against 13 W’s. Timbers have 8 L’s against 10 W’s. There’s no question who the better team is. And Portland gets to (and should) rub our face in it because they earned that right on the pitch. But, let’s rephrase those stats. We’ve had our head in the dirt four times, learned our lesson, and snagged 13 W’s alongside a Golden Boot MVP leader, a 15-game unbeaten streak, sits 4th in the shield race, and 2nd in the conference. We learn our lessons. In contrast, Portland has fallen twice as much8️⃣, sits 10th in the shield race, are 3 seats behind us in the conference. That’s not a competitive comparison. There’s one clear leader and it ain’t by a 👃. So dust off, fam. Stand up, beat your chest, and get your war paint on. #RSL is one of the few elite that has to focus on the War because we’re at the front of it. The Timbers can focus on harvesting the trees we fell on our way to the finish line, we’ve left plenty for them already, and based on their performance gathering lumber this year, they should be grateful for the help. That said, Portland and Timber fan’s deserve 💐. They put us up against it and they made it look easy.
